Player is about the life of Seol-Jin Heo. He was an average high schooler and a webtoon enthusiast. The latest webtoon he was watching did not give him the satisfaction he expected. In the webtoon, some sort of arena is happening. Several audience members are watching the fight. The battle is between the main character Dean and another character called, Nagi. They are both swordsmen.
Dean goes in for an attack. In that instance, it seems like he has struck a fatal blow. However, that was not the case. Nagi oblitares him in an instant. Our protagonist is not happy about this development. He complains how the webtoon supposedly had good ratings. On a Fandom thread, he makes a comment that he can easily defeat the girl. Little did he know he was about to get a chance to do just that.
He does not have the greatest social life at school. His classmates think he is Loser, and every time Seol-Jin tries to socialize, he is shot down and ridiculed. He resorts to hiding in a bathroom stall to watch his webtoons. His classmates enter the room and start talking about him.
Seol-Jin is distraught and wishes to be the main character. At that moment, a voice says, “Then Go Ahead and Try,” and lighting strikes his stall. He then wakes up in the middle of the same arena he was watching on his phone. Unlike what you would expect, he gets defeated almost instantly.
When he wakes up, he is in the presence of Arthur, who introduces himself as the “God of this World.” He clarifies that Seol-Jin is now a Player. He is shown the Heavenly Arena Terrarium. And people who climb the tower are what they call Players. Arthur gives him a sword and sends him on his way.
Player Chapter 145 – Recap
In Player Chapter 145, we see Mirage after his initial confrontation with “God.” The so-called God appeared in worn-out clothes with several restraints placed upon his limbs. He invites Mirage and congratulates him on his journey. And as a prize, he can ask for one wish.
Mirage asks for the Truth of the World. God ridicules him for asking something so mundane. He goes on a rant to say that what he is looking for does not exist. God tells him he has an ability that is perfect for him and asks him to take that instead. However, Mirage asks for the world to change.
Then we saw the entire tower glowing with purple energy. Some are terrified of it, while some look at it in awe. Those on the ground look at it and knows that Mirage was able to do what he set out to do. They find out that nothing is what it seems to be. Reality seems to be unraveling.
Player Chapter 146 – Spoilers
There have been no leaks about the upcoming chapter of Player. But it is sure to be a crucial one in the series. Mirage has finally gained what he was looking for. He met God and got his wish to change the world. However, what kind of repercussions his action will have, we have no way of finding out.
Furthermore, the status of Death Dragon is pitiful. It is not clear if she will survive or not. She was on her wit’s end in the previous chapters. Her healing abilities seem to have run out so has her will to fight. Mirage said he would change her fate with his own hands.
We have yet to see if he remains true to that promise. Hopefully, whatever is coming is not too much for the heroes to handle. Almost nearing 150 chapters, the story is getting very interesting and, to be fair, a little hard to keep track of. The only thing to do now is to wait.
