Phantom Blade Zero is getting a major gameplay showcase ahead of its highly anticipated release. S-Game has confirmed a dedicated State of Play presentation for August 17, promising nearly 20 minutes of new gameplay focused on the action RPG’s combat, characters, progression systems, and dark wuxia-inspired world.
The presentation will give players a much deeper look at the game than the recently released pre-order trailer. Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, and pre-orders are now available.
Phantom Blade Zero State of Play Will Reveal New Gameplay Details
According to S-Game founder and CEO Soulframe Liang in the official PlayStation Blog, the special Phantom Blade Zero State of Play will stream on August 17 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, with international viewers able to watch it on August 18 depending on their region.
The presentation will focus heavily on the game’s combat system and how players can develop different builds. S-Game also confirmed that previously unseen characters will appear during the showcase, giving fans a closer look at the story surrounding protagonist Soul.
The developer teased that the gameplay shown so far only represents the beginning of Soul’s journey. The upcoming presentation is expected to showcase sequences involving high-speed battles, including combat on a moving wagon and confrontations with former allies such as The Hunt.

Another major detail involves martial arts legend Donnie Yen. He has worked with S-Game as a creative consultant since 2023, contributing his expertise in martial arts and action filmmaking to the game’s combat design. Yen also performs facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, Soul’s father.
Phantom Blade Zero is now available to pre-order on PS5, with early buyers receiving the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit. Both rewards can also be earned through normal in-game progression.
The game is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, making the August 17 State of Play an important opportunity for S-Game to demonstrate how its fast-paced combat and wuxia-inspired setting come together in the final experience.
