Phantom Blade Zero Pre-Orders Become Steam’s Top-Selling Paid Game Ahead of October Release

Phantom Blade Zero is showing strong early demand on PC, with its Steam pre-orders ranking as the best-performing paid item on Valve’s storefront for the week ending August 18, 2026. The upcoming action RPG placed third overall in Steam’s revenue-based ranking, behind the free-to-play Counter-Strike 2 and Apex Legends.

The ranking is particularly notable because Phantom Blade Zero is still more than two months away from launch. According to the official PlayStation listing, S-GAME’s wuxia-inspired action RPG is scheduled to release on October 29, 2026, for PS5, while its Steam presence has also attracted considerable attention.

Phantom Blade Zero Pre-Orders Show Strong Early Interest

Valve’s weekly Steam rankings measure revenue rather than simply unit sales, meaning the third-place position reflects the money generated by Phantom Blade Zero pre-orders during the tracking period. The game ranked above several established releases, including HELLDIVERS 2, Dota 2, Marvel Rivals, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.

The result comes shortly after S-GAME opened pre-orders and presented an extended gameplay showcase. PlayStation previously announced that the game would receive a dedicated State of Play focused on its combat, mechanics and story ahead of its October launch.

S-GAME describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark kungfupunk action RPG combining wuxia storytelling with fast-paced combat. Players control Soul, a warrior who has only 66 days left to live, as he fights assassins and investigates a conspiracy threatening the Wulin.

The strong pre-order performance gives Phantom Blade Zero an encouraging early commercial signal, although Steam’s revenue ranking does not guarantee how the game will perform after launch. The title’s October 29 release date also leaves S-GAME with additional time to build anticipation through further trailers, gameplay demonstrations and promotional events.

For now, the Steam ranking suggests that interest in Phantom Blade Zero extends well beyond its PlayStation presentation.
