Sega has confirmed that Persona 6 will receive a physical release on Nintendo Switch 2, clearing up an important question raised after the game’s appearance during the September 2026 Nintendo Direct. The announcement is particularly notable because Sega’s earlier information had indicated that the physical version would be exclusive to PlayStation 5.
The Switch 2 announcement on Sega’s Japanese website now lists physical copies for both PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. This means Switch 2 owners who prefer collecting boxed games will have a physical option when Persona 6 eventually launches.
Persona 6 Physical Edition Expands Beyond PS5
The change follows Persona 6’s reveal for Switch 2 during Nintendo’s latest Direct presentation. Sega’s earlier Persona 6 information had specifically stated that the physical edition was exclusive to PS5, but that wording has since been removed from the company’s announcement page.
The newly published Switch 2 information instead confirms physical editions for both PS5 and Switch 2, although Sega has not provided comparable confirmation for Xbox. As a result, Xbox players still have no official indication that a boxed version will be available for the platform.
The confirmation is significant for Nintendo fans, particularly because Persona has historically developed a strong following on Nintendo platforms despite the series’ long association with PlayStation. A physical Switch 2 edition also gives collectors another way to own Atlus’ next mainline entry without relying exclusively on digital distribution.
For now, Sega has not revealed additional details about the Switch 2 physical edition, including its packaging, price or whether it will differ from the PS5 version. More information is expected as Persona 6 moves closer to release.
