The official X account of Take’s manga Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! announced a hiatus due to the author’s health issues.
Originally scheduled for a new chapter this month, the manga’s hiatus stems from Take’s ongoing recovery from COVID-19.
Despite physical recovery, Take expressed struggling with post-illness fatigue, impacting their ability to draw at their usual pace.
Take began the manga on Niconico in December 2017 under the Dra Dra Sharp# brand. Known for its comedic storyline, the manga follows Sakurai Shinichi and his lively underclassman Uzaki Hana, whose playful antics disrupt his quest for tranquility.
Despite the hiatus, the manga’s 12th volume remains on track for release in July as scheduled.
The manga’s popularity led to a television anime adaptation, with the first season airing in July 2020 and a second season titled Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! ω premiering in October 2022.
The anime, streamed by Funimation and Crunchyroll, mirrors the manga’s comedic themes and character dynamics, further boosting its fanbase.
