On Tuesday, Palworld achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching 1,864,421 concurrent players, as reported by the independent Steam data tracker SteamDB. This accomplishment propelled the game to surpass Valve’s Counter-Strike, which had previously peaked at 1,818,773 concurrent players in May 2023.
Palworld now stands as the second-highest concurrent player count on Steam, with PUBG: Battlegrounds holding the record at 3,257,248, set in January 2018.
Expressing gratitude for the player support, developer and publisher Pocketpair conveyed their appreciation: “Thank you for playing the game even though it is a weekday! The team is working hard to ensure that you can enjoy the game even more comfortably.”
In just four days since its release, Palworld has achieved an impressive sales milestone, surpassing six million copies sold, as reported by Pocketpair, the game’s developer and publisher. The early access version of Palworld is available on PC and Xbox, and it can also be accessed through Game Pass.
Positioned as an “action-adventure survival game,” Palworld invites players to engage in battles, capture Pals for various purposes such as base building and traversal, and partake in combat scenarios.
Notably, the game has faced scrutiny for its monster designs, which some critics argue bear strong resemblances to Pokémon, leading to accusations of potential copying rather than mere inspiration.
