PAC-MAN has officially expanded its presence in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, with Bandai Namco Entertainment America announcing a new wave of content based on the iconic arcade character. The collaboration with Epic Games adds Mecha Ghost Mini Bosses, a new PAC-MAN Sprite companion and an interactive PAC-MAN Sidekick to the battle royale experience.
The latest additions are available alongside PAC-MAN-themed content that has already appeared across the Fortnite island. Players can now fight powerful Mecha Ghosts for high-tier rewards, while the new Sprite companion offers a gameplay-focused ability that can potentially help players survive dangerous encounters.
The collaboration also extends beyond gameplay. From September 19 through September 25, players can purchase a limited-time PAC-MAN Sidekick and several arcade-inspired cosmetics from the Item Shop. The PAC-MAN content is scheduled to remain available through October 31, 2026, giving players several weeks to experience the crossover.
Mecha Ghosts and PAC-MAN Sprite Add New Gameplay Options
The headline addition is the Mecha Ghost, a new Mini Boss based on the classic pixel-art Ghost designs from PAC-MAN. These enemies can be encountered throughout the Fortnite island, with increased spawn rates on the newly introduced PAC-MAN-themed islands.
Defeating a Mecha Ghost rewards players with high-tier Mythic loot, giving the encounters an additional incentive beyond the crossover itself. Their placement across the island also adds another combat challenge for players exploring the seasonal content.
The update introduces a PAC-MAN Sprite based on Blinky from the PAC-MAN: Snack Breaks animated YouTube series. Players can obtain the Sprite by following instructions through the in-game Cheat Panel.
Unlike a purely cosmetic companion, the Sprite has a gameplay effect. Its passive ability can cloak the player and provide invincibility when they take damage, potentially making it useful during particularly dangerous moments.

The crossover’s cosmetic lineup will also feature the PAC-MAN Sidekick in the Item Shop from September 19 to September 25. The animated companion runs alongside players during matches, is invincible and comes with its own Sidekick Emote, arcade music jingles and sound effects.
Players can also pick up the PAC-MAN Back Bling, which changes between Cherry, Orange and Galaxian after eliminations. The collection additionally includes PAC-MAN Gloves Pickaxe, new Kicks footwear and other arcade-themed items.
The wider Override collaboration features PAC-MAN Island, BLINKY Island and PINKY Island locations, with Easter eggs scattered throughout the environment. These include PAC-MAN-inspired arcade machines and clouds shaped like the famous character and his Ghost enemies.
Bandai Namco is also celebrating the crossover with a new PAC-MAN: Snack Breaks animated short tied to the character’s Fortnite debut. The new content will remain in the game through October 31, 2026.
