Synopsis

Our female lead, Min Jae Yi, is composed and kind—everything a good daughter of a reputable family is supposed to be. Jae Yi, who is engaged to the son of the Second State Councillor, accepts her fate with grace and charm because she understands that doing otherwise will not bring honor to herself or her family.

Han Joong-eon opens Our Blooming Youth episode 10 by witnessing the Crown Prince and Sung-on kissing while standing back. Sung-on accepts the Crown Prince’s invitation to meet at the military range so they can practice archery.

The Crown Prince and Min Jae-yi return to the palace following their emotional reunion. The Crown Prince approaches Min Jae-yi and asks if she wants to be his friend again.

When Min Jae-yi asks him to apologize formally, the Crown Prince instead prepares an internal reply. He acknowledges his mistake and says he missed her when he banished her. The fact that he merely told a brief anecdote, in Min Jae- Yi’s opinion, is not fair. She accepts his apology nonetheless.

The Crown Prince meets with the King in the palace and describes how the plum tree caught fire. He also informs the King of his concerns that Jo Won-bo might be exploiting the case to aggravate Han Joong-eon, his sworn enemy.

Jo Won-bo plays the victim and claims that by telling the monarch about the ledgers, he was simply carrying out his duty.

Jo Won-bo was the Governor of Byeokcheon ten years ago when a blacksmith led a rebellion in the town. Although he was beaten brutally, he came back victorious and captured the blacksmith and his acquaintances who supported the rebellion.

After that, he was awarded the title of the Prince of the Court of Seongju. And since then, Byeokcheon was closed from having any visitors and named the traitor’s land.

The episode ends with the court lady getting ready to write a letter to her master about the Byeokcheon incident, where the Crown Prince had called all the people who originated from there to bear witness.
