“Operation True Love” is a romantic comedy Korean manhwa Kkokkalee illustrated by DleDumb. The manhwa began its release on April 2021 on LINE Webtoon. The manhwa follows a young girl called Shim Su-ae, who has been dating Minu Kang for years now. Even so, Minu Kang has always been absent from Su-ae’s life, being aloof and dismissive about their relationship, and doesn’t spend time with her.
Shim Su-ae has only wish – to be more like her charismatic and beautiful stepsister Ra-mi, who seems to have it all. Things take a weird turn when Su-ae discovers a sentient flip phone, Jellypop, in her locker at the high school. Jellypop is not your average phone, it was things to say of its own. Being with Su-ae, Jellypop seems to have a lot of snarky things to say about her love life with Kang Minu.
Su-ae keeps drifting further and further away from Kang Minu as her feelings begin to weaken. She finds herself running into Kang Minu’s friend Eunhyeok more and more. Things take a turn for the worse when Su-ae grows suspicious about Kang Minu and Rami’s relationship, thinking they might be more than just friends. Su-ae needs a miracle to help her navigate through the ups and downs of high school romance and come to terms with her feelings.
Operation True Love: Chapter 54 Recap
Previously, we see that Baek Do Hwa gets beaten up really badly to the point of unconsciousness. When Su-ae finds him, she worries about him and tries to carry him back to his apartment. The only problem is – she forgot which apartment Do Hwa lived in. She somehow remembers the apartment number and carries Do Hwa inside the house.
Do Hwa being heavier and much taller than Su-ae ends up stumbling and falling on Su-ae as they enter the house. Su-ae realizes that Beak Do Hwa is actually burning up and pushes him off her. She somehow carries him to his bed and tucks him in. Afterwards, she rushes in and out of the house to get him medicine.
Su-ae wakes Do Hwa up, who takes his medicine in a half-unconscious state and falls back asleep. To pass the time, Su-ae decides to read some comics as she waits for Do Hwa to wake up. Do Hwa wakes up from an intense nightmare and sees Su-ae, who had fallen asleep while reading her book.
Do Hwa wakes her up and thanks her for carrying him home. He asks her if she’s hungry and begins preparing food for her. As he makes her food, they continue chatting, and Su-ae shares how she forgot his apartment number and how she reminded herself of it. They share some laughs as they have a wholesome meal together.
