‘Only Hope’ is a Manhwa series following the story of Eunhye Ju. She and her husband, Dojin Nam, have a picture-perfect marriage, but her parents don’t appear to accept him because he is an orphan.
The story starts with Eunhye’s father being admitted to the hospital and not wanting her to visit him. Her father has never treated her like his daughter, but she is the only one who is bothered by the lack of affection between them.
Even on the brink of death, Eunhye’s own father never looked her in the eye nor ever called her name affectionately, which disappoints Eunhye a lot. She then witnesses her mother slapping her husband, which upsets her a lot. She ends up defending her husband and returning home with him.
Except for the parents part, everything about their relationship was just fine; until it wasn’t. She one day discovers a hidden basement in their villa. As anyone would be, curiously, she decides to enter and check out.
At first, she thinks it is just some sort of storage place, but as she goes in, she discovers a really dark secret that puts her life, as well as her marriage, at risk. Scared, she rushes out of the place in panic.
That evening, Eunhye’s home is destroyed by arson. It appears that the dark secret she has discovered already has fatal repercussions. Eunhye dies the same evening. He was hiding his identity, so she was unable to determine who killed her.
Fortunately or unfortunately, nine years after her death, she awakens on the day she first meets Dojin Nam, the man she will marry. She is anxious because she is aware of what will eventually happen.
Eunhye is now determined to change her and her husband’s fate for good. She is able to alter a lot of past circumstances as she retraces her ways through time. Will she experience a better or more challenging life as a result of these changes?
Previously on Only Hope Chapter 30: Recap
In chapter 30 of Only Hope, we see Eunhye on a date with So Young. She knows for sure that he has no feelings for her. She is also sure that Ja Kyung will end up breaking up with her boyfriend just for her best friend, So Young.
Eunhye finds it worse that he chooses to meet at the restaurant where the girl who likes him works. She believes that it is worse than having an affair with someone.
Dojin is at the same restaurant keeping an eye on Eunhye from afar. As he is curious about what they might have spoken about, Eunhye stands up and leaves. He sees Eunhye’s date following her and grabbing her hand to stop and talk to her.
Eunhye is hurt when So Young holds her hand. Dojin comes for rescue and warns him not to hurt her. After a short quarrel between the men, Dojin tells Eunhye that he will drop her home.
Eunhye then apologizes and instinctively confesses that she likes Dojin. Dojin is happy hearing that, but as they both now believe in deja vu, it is difficult for him to accept the love.
No matter what, they do not want to hurt the other person. They would rather just take care of the other person from afar. But their love is more than any of that sort. It is difficult to hide your feelings when it is that strong.
