Last chapter’s early hint suggested about Luffy messing around and get beaten, which was accurate. This week’s hint will be live soon (update it is live)!

This could mean Luffy is all okay and does something crazy like Imu’s attack does not work on him? Like how Enel’s attacks did not work? Aside from this, as usual these are early spoilers so chances of being inaccurate, take it with a grain of salt. We will have more spoilers coming in 24 to 48 hours, big ones!

CHAPTER 1189: “KING OF THE WORLD”.
COVER PAGE SHOWS NAMI SCOLDING LUFFY, ZORO AND SANJI (TURNED INTO MONKEYS) A LESSON.
IMU GETS ANOTHER WEAPON CALLED “SEA GOD SWORD” AND STABS LUFFY AGAIN. THEN IMU PINNES LUFFY TO A TREE WITH BOTH SWORDS.
USOPP SENSES SOMETHING BAD HAS HAPPENED TO LUFFY.
GUNKO’S ICE HAS MELTED BUT SHE STILL HASN’T REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS.

LORE On The Weapons
The Holy Lance (Spear of Holy Command)
Origin: Christian Relic / Divine Weapon
The Lore: According to the Gospel of John, this is the spear used by a Roman soldier (traditionally named Longinus) to pierce the side of Jesus during the crucifixion to check if he was dead. Because it touched divine blood, legends say it holds immense miraculous and world-conquering power. It is also famously known as the Lance of Longinus or the Spear of Destiny.
Gram (Sword of Wrath)
Origin: Norse Mythical Weapon
The Lore: In Norse mythology, this legendary sword was forged by Volund the smith and originally pulled from a tree trunk by Sigmund. It was later shattered and reforged by his son, the great hero Sigurd. Sigurd used this mighty blade to slay the fearsome dragon Fafnir and claim his massive hoard of cursed treasure. In Germanic legends, this sword is also known as Balmung.
Qi (Xingtian’s Axe)
Origin: Chinese Mythical Weapon
The Lore: Xingtian was a giant warrior and deity who challenged the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) for supreme power. During their epic duel, the Emperor decapitated Xingtian and buried his head in a mountain. Refusing to give up, Xingtian’s spirit was so strong that he transformed his nipples into eyes and his belly button into a mouth. He continued to fight endlessly, wielding his massive axe (Qi) and shield (Gan).

Another weapon of the 19 Families is also mentioned; it is called “Muramasa.” Muramasa (村正; born before 1501), commonly known as Sengo Muramasa, was a famous swordsmith who founded the Muramasa school and lived during the Muromachi period in Japan!!

The second sword Imu summons this chapter: Fragarach – (Sword of Sea God)!! “In Irish mythology, Fragarach, known as “The Answerer”, was the sword of the sea god Manannán mac Lir. The sword weakened its foes, and no mail or armour could block it.” (worstgenhq)
The “Longinus spear” is the weapon of the Rimoshifu monarch from 800 years ago. It is essentially a family heirloom passed down through the Rimoshifu family. The sword “Wrath” which Sommers got is also a heirloom of the Shepherd family.

Another weapon added to the 19 Kings’ weapons: The Sword of Chaos (Tohu / トーフー) It makes sense that each of the 20 Kings’ weapons was enhanced using the technology of that era, which is why they all possess special abilities. However, Lily’s weapon is missing; this could play a role for Vivi later on, should she gain access to it.

FULL SUMMARY FOR CHAPTER 1189!
The chapter starts with Imu pinning Luffy to the tree with 1 sword, and Luffy is spitting blood from his mouth and a lot of it; it looks like a lot, like when Kaido knocked him out first.
As soon as Luffy got knocked out and started bleeding a lot, Usopp sensed him, and Nami asked what is going on.
Usopp said, “Is Luffy alright?” while looking at where Luffy is, and Nami is mad, lol, saying don’t ask such a scary question. Nami also says he is fine for sure, to which Jinbei replies that the guy there defeated this Giant too, so don’t take it easy.
While panting, Loki talks to Jinbei, telling him something about Luffy, but could not speak as he is very wounded himself too. Jinbei says without a doubt Luffy’s haki is very weakened.
Brook and Franky are where Gunko is. She is out of ice but still ICE COLD, and Brook doesn’t know a thing about Luffy even though Jinbei, Usopp, and Nami all are talking about Luffy there, lol. He is too focused on Gunko, and Usopp has a freaking bean pointed at Gunko, and Ragnir is just going Kuriri, lol.
Gerd and others came in the ship in a really funny way, lol, and they crashed directly into an already wounded Loki. Chopper uses Guard Point to make sure Gerd is okay, while Hajrudin is in shambles, lol.
Gerd is very worried about Loki and looking at his condition. She tells him that his condition is critical and asks what brought him here, to which Hajrudin says his wounds are worse. To which Hajrudin remembers his talk with the elder Jarul to go to where Luffy is fighting, and Jarul says that saving children is a temporary solution, and he talks about: is this a decision agreed upon at Reverie to control Elbaph? And says of course not, that’s why that man is here, and who is here anyway? By that man, it means IMU.
We see Luffy get stabbed with another sword which Imu makes from fire behind his back. And says that Imu says that he has stabbed Luffy with a sword that steals life energy, and says that he won’t be able to move. Imu thinks about how many stabs it will take to kill Luffy and says what a disgusting name “MONKEY D. LUFFY” is.
He talks about each brother carrying a different family name and says one of them was killed by Marines, and the other appeared among the Revolutionary Army to spread his fame. Loki is seen thinking about something: “IT MUST BE THAT TIME?”. Plus, Luffy couldn’t say a thing while Imu was insulting his brothers.
Loki says he will avenge his father and his men. He is the one Red-Haired spoke of; by he, Loki means Imu. We see a flashback with Shanks, Gaban, Jarul, and Loki.
Shanks says that he understands Loki, but he must be patient, to which Loki is mad and says he wants him to not avenge his father? Shanks says that he is not underestimating him, and he wants him to avenge Harald as Harald was his friend too, but then Shanks drops the coldest line in One Piece.
“THINK CAREFULLY! THE WORLD GOVERNMENT SEEKS TO CONTROL THE REST!! AND THAT IS NOT ITS ULTIMATE GOAL, MERELY A MEANS TO PREPARE FOR WAR!!”
Loki says he doesn’t care what the World Government wants and that he wants to avenge his father, and that he was a victim of what happened and innocent soldiers. (I just have to say that Loki’s moral compass is very high.)
Shanks asks Loki who his enemy is and who will he choose? Loki replies World Government, to which Shanks says that the one who is controlling and manipulating all is “THE KING OF THE WORLD”.
Jarul is shocked that world politics forbids the appointment of a king, and Shanks is thinking it is fine; he knows they are not going to believe him, to which Loki says he will just kill him, plain and simple. Shanks says that the King’s power is beyond anything anyone has ever seen. He says that his journey to the Holy Land only confused him about the goal of his power. Shanks says that, “IF HIS DEFEAT WERE POSSIBLE, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE DEFEATED HIM BEFORE YOU!!”
Shanks says it is not time to fight him yet. Loki walks away and says he will crush him where he is. Loki says he left the country out of respect, and that he couldn’t reach the King of the World, and this presents a perfect opportunity to eliminate the King of the World.
Gerd says that is a ridiculous idea, and Hajrudin says to let him help Loki as he wants revenge for his father’s murder too.
Jinbei is just shocked: what is the role of the Gorosei if there is a King of the World…? Ragnir is stopping Brook from waking Gunko up, and Brook is getting mad at Ragnir. Chopper translates for Ragnir, and Ragnir is saying that he froze that woman because she is dangerous, to which Brook screams, “WHAT?!! YOU FROZE HER?!!”
Brook says this girl is like his daughter, and Ragnir thinks how come this skeleton has a daughter like this, lol. Brook says he knows she is dangerous, but someone was manipulating her.
We get a small panel with Robin/Saul, and then Imu takes out an axe to kill Luffy. While insulting Luffy and saying this weapon isn’t just for stabbing, it looks like he wants to chop Luffy to pieces, lol. He also says to Luffy that he is so disgusting.
We get a panel where Zoro is fighting Sommers and Sanji is fighting Killingham. There is a lot of talking, and the summary is already pretty big so I won’t take more space, but Sanji and Zoro both are getting overpowered by the Holy Knights because of Imu’s buff.
While Killingham and Sommers tell about their family weapons, all Zoro and Sanji do is watch. Imu says Luffy is going to be killed by one of the weapons that founded the world, and while Imu is attacking Luffy, Gaban arrives. THE END. NO NEXT CHAPTER NEXT WEEK.
