Last Wednesday, some revealing insider information was made public about everything that happens in One Piece chapter 1109. While these early unofficial spoilers can’t be fully verified until the manga issue gets its official release from Shueisha, these types of spoiler summaries have generally ended up being reliable in the past.
As a result, fans have already begun reacting to and analyzing the alleged events from chapter 1109. The issue continues to portray the Gorosei leaders as increasingly menacing threats in the way they move forward with their plans.
Additionally, dialogue from Saint Jaygarcia Saturn of the Gorosei seemingly confirms the death of Dr. Vegapunk, which had been unclear thus far.
Even though the events are still unofficial spoilers at this stage, fans tend to view early chapter summaries as trustworthy enough to start discussing and speculating on what they might mean for the overarching story.
Full Summary
The spoilers indicate that the recording from Dr. Vegapunk continues playing at the start of chapter 1109. It’s now confirmed this is an old message Vegapunk prerecorded long ago since his assistants like Vegapunk Shaka can also be seen in the footage.
Additionally, it’s revealed that the broadcast signal for this message is specially tuned to forcefully activate all the Transponder Snails used by the Marines globally, while also preventing the snails from being disabled.
Shaka then suggests on tape that people worldwide will require some time to set up screens and Visual Transponder Snails to view the coming message.
As a result, Dr. Vegapunk says he will wait for 10 minutes so everyone can prepare whatever devices they need to see the transmission.
This essentially means the Marines and the World Government now have a short 10-minute window to stop any information from being leaked out whatsoever.
Nami and Usopp confused by Vegapunk’s message
The spoilers go on to show Nami and Usopp watching Vegapunk’s message, confused about what he is doing since they remain unaware of his presumed death. It’s also said there are no updates on Zoro, Jinbe, or Brook featured in this chapter.
Instead, the issue shifts focus to Luffy, who continues grabbing onto Saint Jaygarcia Saturn’s head and Admiral Kizaru.
Gorosei confirms Vegapunk’s death via telepathy with Saturn
The chapter 1109 spoilers then state that Saint Jaygarcia Saturn mentally communicates with the other 4 Gorosei leaders, likely through some form of telepathy related to their powers.
They ask Saturn if Dr. Vegapunk has truly died. Saturn replies that he believes Vegapunk is dead, given how Kizaru had attacked him earlier.
This dialogue essentially serves as official confirmation within the story that Vegapunk has indeed passed away.
The Gorosei goes on to speculate that Vegapunk’s death probably triggered the automatic release of his prerecorded video message, which is broadcasted globally from Vegapunk’s Labo-Phase research facility.
Everyone globally react to Dr. Vegapunk’s broadcast signal
The chapter then shifts perspective to various characters globally who are reacting to and preparing to receive Dr. Vegapunk’s incoming broadcast signal.
Those shown include Rebecca, Kyros, and Leo in Dressrosa; Big News Morgans with Vivi Nefertari and Wapol in Morgans’ hot air balloon; Woop Slap back in Luffy’s hometown of Foosha Village; and Iceberg in Water 7.
Emporio Ivankov and Monkey D. Dragon are also featured together in the Kamabakka Queendom, with Dragon pondering Shaka’s previous words to him before her death.
Additionally, several unnamed characters across unnamed random islands are displayed getting ready. The story then returns its focus back to Egghead Island.
Here Luffy questions why he’s unable to damage Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. He decides to change strategies as Kizaru shoots deadly laser beams from his eyes at Luffy, which Luffy, fortunately, manages to dodge.
Luffy uses “Gomu Gomu no Dawn Cymbol” to defeat Kizaru and Saturn.
The spoilers show Luffy using a new attack called “Gomu Gomu no Dawn Cymbol” where he smacks Kizaru and Saturn’s heads together between his stretched hands.
This comically flattens them into paper-thin shapes complete with circling stars, as seen in old cartoons. Luffy then grabs the dazed pair and hurls them far into the ocean.
Kizaru crashes into and collapses panting atop a Marine battleship, while Saturn boomerangs back unfazed like Luffy’s Gum Gum UFO move.
Saturn attacks Luffy with his legs, but Luffy dodges frustrated to see Saturn uninjured.
The other Gorosei quickly contacts Saturn telepathically again, telling him there’s no time left and Dr. Vegapunk’s message must be stopped at all costs. Saturn replies he will “summon” them now.
Chapter 1109 ends with Saint Jaygarcia Saturn summoning massive magical circles
The chapter concludes by showing Saint Jaygarcia Saturn touching the ground on Egghead Island, which creates four massive magical circles.
These circles then erupt with the same ominous black lightning and flames that appeared when Saturn first materialized on the island.
Luffy looks shocked at this sight, while Sanji watches from a distance and notes the similarities to Saturn’s initial entrance.
This seeming display of power links back to the looming threat Saturn and the Gorosei represent.
With that climactic scene, the spoilers confirm there will be a break for the One Piece manga series next week.
So chapter 1109 ends by reinforcing Saturn and the Gorosei’s intimidating capabilities while leaving fans to speculate on what will happen next.
