ONE OR EIGHT have reached a new milestone with “Yellow Brick Road,” their latest single and the official ending theme for the second season of the Black Clover anime.
Released digitally on October 7, the song marks the group’s first venture into Japanese-language lyrics while connecting their own journey with the determination of Black Clover protagonist Asta.
The second season of Black Clover began airing in Japan on October 3, with “Yellow Brick Road” accompanying the series as its ending theme.
The anime follows Asta, a boy born without magical abilities in a world where magic determines nearly everything, as he continues his dream of becoming the Wizard King.
For ONE OR EIGHT, the opportunity carries particular meaning.
MIZUKI revealed that he had been reading Black Clover since its serialization began and described performing the ending theme as a major honor.
The group sees a strong connection between Asta’s determination to overcome obstacles with his friends and their own ambition to take on challenges alongside their fans, 1DERZ.
“Yellow Brick Road” Mirrors Asta’s Journey of Determination
Rather than being a straightforward victory anthem, “Yellow Brick Road” focuses on continuing forward despite uncertainty, loneliness, and difficult moments.
The song’s central message is about choosing your own path and finding the strength to keep moving when someone important is walking beside you.
The official description of the song presents its “Yellow Brick Road” as a journey that may involve detours and hardships.
Along the way, the protagonist eventually realizes that the power being sought was within them from the beginning.
That idea closely parallels Asta’s story and his determination to surpass the limitations placed before him.

MIZUKI also connected the track to ONE OR EIGHT’s own ambitions, saying the group wants to continue challenging itself and moving toward the world while keeping the message “Surpass your limits, right here and now!!!!” in their hearts.
The song also gives special meaning to the Japanese word “君,” or “you.”
In the track, it can refer to Asta’s companions while simultaneously representing the 1DERZ fans who have supported ONE OR EIGHT throughout their journey.
ONE OR EIGHT Enter a New Chapter With Their First Japanese-Language Song
“Yellow Brick Road” represents more than an anime tie-in for ONE OR EIGHT.
It is also their first song featuring Japanese lyrics, giving the group an opportunity to explore a new form of expression.
The song’s message reflects their own approach of choosing their direction rather than simply following a predetermined path.
The eight-member group consists of MIZUKI, NEO, REIA, RYOTA, SOUMA, TAKERU, TSUBASA, and YUGA.
Formed in Japan and guided by the tagline “BET ON YOURSELF,” ONE OR EIGHT have positioned themselves as a group willing to take risks while pursuing global ambitions.
The release also arrives during an active period for the group. ONE OR EIGHT are preparing for their 47-prefecture Japanese fan meeting tour, “ONE OR EIGHT SHŪKAI 2026-2027 in JAPAN -2GATHER-,” which begins on October 8.
The group has also announced a series of six “Yellow Brick Road” music-and-movie cards connected to the tour, with different member versions and exclusive video content.
With “Yellow Brick Road,” ONE OR EIGHT are therefore stepping into a new chapter while drawing a meaningful parallel between their own journey and Asta’s.
Instead of celebrating an easy victory, the song emphasizes perseverance, companionship, and continuing forward- making it a fitting ending theme for Black Clover Season 2.
