In a major announcement that has sent shockwaves through the global K-pop community, YG Entertainment has officially unveiled its ambitious roadmap for 2026.
On March 4, 2026, the agency released a video titled “2026 YG PLAN | YG ANNOUNCEMENT,” featuring an interview with executive producer Yang Hyun Suk.
Coinciding with the company’s 30th anniversary, the plan outlines a monumental strategy that blends the return of legendary icons with the debut of a new generation of talent.
The headline news- the long-awaited return of BIGBANG for a 20th-anniversary global tour- has already ignited a “VIP” frenzy worldwide, marking what many consider the most significant comeback of the decade.
The Return of the Kings: BIGBANG’s 20th Anniversary Global Tour
The most “electrifying” highlight of the 2026 plan is undoubtedly the confirmation that BIGBANG will reunite for a massive global tour to celebrate two decades since their 2006 debut.
Yang Hyun Suk personally confirmed the news, stating,
“We have agreed with the BIGBANG members to hold concerts.”
This tour will feature the trio of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, reaffirming the “YG Family” bond that has spanned twenty years. Yang emphasized the deep trust between the agency and the members, noting,
“Since we’ve worked together for such a long time, I don’t think there will be any difficulties. All YG staff will do their best to create a perfect and outstanding performance.”
The anniversary activities are expected to kick off with a high-profile “warm-up” performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California this April.
For fans who have waited nearly a decade for a full-scale international tour, the news represents a “dream come true.”

While former members Seungri and T.O.P are not part of this specific project (with T.O.P reportedly focusing on his solo label, Topspot Pictures), the core trio is ready to reclaim their title as the “Kings of K-pop” by performing their legendary hits like “Lies,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “Bang Bang Bang” on the world’s biggest stages once again.
Building the Future: New Debuts and Strategic Growth
Beyond the nostalgia of BIGBANG, YG is aggressively preparing for the future by launching its first new boy group in six years since the debut of TREASURE.
Through on-screen subtitles, the agency revealed, “YG is preparing a new boy group, targeting Fall 2026.”
This announcement follows years of “exploration and analysis” of a specific male trainee team.
This new group is expected to lead the “next generation” of YG artists, alongside the four-member rookie girl group tentatively named NEXT MONSTER.
The roadmap for NEXT MONSTER has become clearer, with the agency set to reveal the final two members following the successful introduction of Ively and Chanya last year.
The 2026 plan also promises heavy activity from YG’s established fourth and fifth-generation stars:
- BABYMONSTER: The “monster rookies” are scheduled for a packed year, including a third mini-album titled CHOOM (Dance) in May, a second world tour covering South America, Europe, and Oceania starting in June, and their second full-length album in the fall.
- TREASURE: The group will embark on a “second act” with a mini-album in June that promises an “authentic YG-style hip-hop” sound, a move driven by the members’ own creative desires.
Yang Hyun Suk concluded the announcement by reflecting on YG’s 30-year legacy and its commitment to “staying true to its roots” for the next 40 to 50 years.
By improving internal systems to shorten album production cycles and continuously discovering new Intellectual Property (IP), YG aims to make 2026 a landmark year that bridges the legendary past of BIGBANG with a vibrant, rookie-led future.
