Survived by his wife, Erin, and their two sons, Ben and Sebastian, Gauthier’s cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. Throughout his career, Gauthier appeared in episodes of popular series like “Supernatural,” “Eureka,” “Smallville,” and A Series of Unfortunate Events,”.
He also had notable roles in movies such as “40 Days and 40 Nights,” “Agent Cody Banks,” and “Freddy vs. Jason.” Additionally, he made appearances in various Hallmark Channel franchises, including “The Christmas House,” “When Calls the Heart,” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”
However, he was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Smee, Captain Hook’s right-hand man, in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.” “Once Upon a Time,” show-runner expressed his sadness over Gauthier’s passing, describing him as a kind, sweet, and talented person who will be deeply missed.
Colin O’Donoghue, who played Captain Hook in the series, also shared his condolences, remembering Gauthier as the “real captain” and expressing his love and thoughts for Erin and their sons.
