Zenless Zone Zero is set to receive one of its most significant updates yet, as Version 3.0 officially launches on June 17. Developed by HoYoverse, the update introduces a mix of new story content, characters, and technical improvements, particularly for PC players.
According to NVIDIA’s official update, the latest version brings advanced graphical features such as DLSS and ray tracing, marking a notable step forward in visual fidelity for the game.
DLSS 4.5 and Ray Tracing Headline the Update
The most prominent addition in Version 3.0 is the integration of advanced rendering technologies powered by NVIDIA. These include DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and ray-traced effects such as reflections, ambient occlusion, and global illumination.
These upgrades are designed to enhance both performance and visual quality, particularly for players using GeForce RTX GPUs. NVIDIA noted that these features aim to deliver a “definitive PC experience,” improving frame rates while maintaining high graphical detail.
Future updates are also expected to introduce Multi Frame Generation, further optimizing performance for supported systems.
Beyond technical improvements, Version 3.0 continues the narrative of New Eridu, the last surviving metropolis in a world devastated by mysterious calamities known as “Hollows.”
The update, titled “A Sleepwalker’s Confession,” introduces a new storyline in which players, known as Proxies, are invited to a restricted zone called Roscaelifer. Under the guidance of Velina, a key figure within the External Strategy Department, players begin to uncover secrets tied to a mysterious energy called Pyrois.
This chapter aims to deepen the lore while introducing new environments and exploration mechanics.

New Characters and Gameplay Additions
Version 3.0 also expands the playable roster with the introduction of new S-Rank agents. Among them are Velina, a Wind attribute Anomaly Agent, and Norma, a Fire attribute Stun Agent.
Additionally, players will receive rewards as part of the Season 3 launch, including the Phaethon faction Agent Pyrois and 1,600 Polychromes. These additions provide both narrative significance and gameplay variety, encouraging players to experiment with different team compositions.
The update also introduces new activities and mechanics, further diversifying the gameplay loop.
Steam Launch and Cross-Platform Progression
Another major milestone for the game is its official release on Steam, coinciding with the Version 3.0 update. This expands accessibility for PC players and introduces cross-platform data sharing.
With this feature, players can seamlessly continue their progress across different devices, aligning with industry trends toward unified gaming ecosystems.
