Nintendo’s newest Star Fox game has made an impressive debut in the UK, claiming the No. 1 position on the physical software sales chart for the week ending June 27, 2026. The launch not only secured the top spot but also delivered a significantly stronger opening than previous entries in the franchise.
According to the latest UK sales figures, the new Nintendo Switch 2 title sold nearly twice as many physical copies during its debut week as Star Fox Zero managed at launch on Wii U. The game also outperformed Star Fox 64 3D, recording approximately 70% higher physical sales than the Nintendo 3DS remake.
The strong performance suggests renewed interest in Nintendo’s long-running space shooter series, which had not received a brand-new mainline entry for several years.
Nintendo dominates the week’s best-selling games
Star Fox led a chart packed with first-party Nintendo releases. EA Sports FC 26 finished in second place, while Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition climbed to third. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream continued its strong performance in fourth, followed by 007 First Light rounding out the top five.
Other Nintendo titles remained prominent throughout the Top 40, including Pokémon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
The chart also highlighted continued demand for Resident Evil Requiem, Elden Ring, Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto V, and Pragmata, showing a healthy mix of recent releases and long-selling favorites.

Rayman Anniversary Edition also makes its debut
Another notable new release was Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, which entered the UK chart at No. 12. Nintendo Switch players accounted for 44% of the game’s physical sales, demonstrating the platform’s continued importance for third-party publishers launching family-friendly titles.
While the latest chart reflects only physical software sales in the UK and excludes digital purchases, Star Fox’s opening performance is an encouraging sign for Nintendo. Nearly doubling the launch sales of Star Fox Zero and comfortably surpassing Star Fox 64 3D, the franchise has regained momentum on Nintendo Switch 2.
With positive launch numbers and the series returning after a lengthy absence, Star Fox has delivered one of Nintendo’s strongest physical debuts of the summer in the UK market.
