Nintendo has shared its latest hardware and software shipment figures, revealing that the Nintendo Switch 2 has reached 23.68 million units shipped worldwide as of June 30, 2026. The figures, released as part of the company’s latest financial results, also show that the original Nintendo Switch family has now shipped 156.59 million units, cementing its place among the best-selling gaming consoles in history.
The latest report highlights continued demand for Nintendo’s newest hybrid console while showing that the original Switch platform remains active despite the arrival of its successor. According to Nintendo’s official financial results, lifetime shipments of Switch 2 software have also climbed to 58.17 million copies.
Switch 2 continues global growth while Switch nears another milestone
During the quarter ending June 30, 2026, Nintendo shipped 3.82 million Switch 2 consoles, compared to 660,000 original Switch systems. Regionally, Switch 2 shipments break down to 7.95 million units in the Americas, 6.70 million in Japan, 5.37 million in Europe, and 3.66 million across other territories.
Meanwhile, the original Switch lineup continues to grow. Of the platform’s 156.59 million lifetime shipments, the standard Nintendo Switch accounts for 97.75 million units, while the Switch OLED has shipped 32.23 million and the Switch Lite has reached 26.61 million.
Nintendo has also kept its fiscal year forecast unchanged, expecting to ship 16.5 million Switch 2 systems and 2 million original Switch units by March 31, 2027.
Nintendo’s newest software lineup continues to perform strongly on Switch 2. Mario Kart World remains the console’s biggest first-party release with 15.39 million copies shipped, followed by Donkey Kong Bananza at 4.78 million and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with 3.99 million units.
Other notable performers include Pokémon Pokopia, Kirby Air Riders, and Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, all surpassing one million copies shipped.
On the original Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe extended its remarkable lead with 71.53 million copies shipped, ahead of Animal Crossing: New Horizons at 50.29 million and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at 38.14 million.
Nintendo also confirmed that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has now sold more than eight million copies worldwide as of August 5, 2026, underscoring the continued strength of its first-party portfolio.
According to sales data published by Nintendo, the Switch 2 has also surpassed the Nintendo GameCube’s lifetime hardware sales, marking another milestone for the company’s latest console.
