The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera has fallen to its lowest price yet, with GameStop offering the official accessory for $9.99, down from its regular $54.99 price. Shoppers will need to add the camera to their cart before the discounted price appears.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera launched alongside Nintendo’s new console to support GameChat, allowing players to use voice and video chat while gaming. Although the system also supports compatible third-party USB cameras, Nintendo’s official model has often been viewed as an expensive optional accessory.

The latest GameStop promotion changes that, reducing the camera’s price by more than 80%, making it one of the biggest Switch 2 hardware discounts so far.

Star Fox update adds a fun new use for the camera

The timing of the sale comes shortly after Velan Studios’ Star Fox remake introduced a new Camera Connect feature. Players can now use the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera to display eight animated Star Fox character avatars during GameChat sessions. The avatars track players’ facial movements, allowing fans to chat while appearing as characters such as Slippy Toad and other members of the Star Fox team.

Before the update, only a handful of Switch 2 titles—including Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, and Chillin’ by the Fire—made notable use of the camera.

With the new Star Fox functionality and the steep discount, the accessory now offers a stronger value proposition for players interested in getting more out of Nintendo’s GameChat features.
