Nintendo has rolled out another backward compatibility update for the Nintendo Switch 2, continuing its efforts to improve support for original Nintendo Switch games on the newer console. The latest June 2026 update addresses compatibility issues affecting seven titles, including the popular indie platformer Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
The update resolves previously identified issues, such as the audio glitches players could encounter in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove when playing on Switch 2.
Latest update improves compatibility for seven games
The June compatibility patch includes fixes for the following games:
- Artifact Seekers
- Landing Hero Haneda×787
- Raiden IV x Mikado Remix
- Rico
- Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
- Skateboard Drifting with Maxwell Cat: The Game Simulator
- Strania: The Stella Machina EX
While Nintendo has not detailed every individual fix, the update is intended to improve stability and overall compatibility across these titles when played on Switch 2.
Nintendo also refreshed its list of known compatibility issues. Bar Stella Abyss, which is available only in Japan, continues to experience audio-related problems on Switch 2. Meanwhile, Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook may still encounter missing sound effects and voice synchronization issues in certain sections of the game.
In addition, Drakkar Crew and Kiyo: Bunny Tyranny remain unsupported on Nintendo Switch 2 at this time.
Since the console’s launch, Nintendo has released regular firmware and compatibility updates to expand support for its extensive Switch library. These ongoing patches are designed to ensure that more legacy games run smoothly on the company’s latest hardware while addressing issues reported by players.
