Nintendo Download for This Week: Lies of P: Complete Edition Arrives as Nintendo Expands Switch 2 and Switch Lineup

Nintendo has rolled out another packed Nintendo Download, headlined by the launch of Lies of P: Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the acclaimed action RPG, this week’s update introduces never-before-released Virtual Boy games through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, fresh downloadable content, Game Trials, Nintendo Music additions, and dozens of new releases across Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

The latest update continues Nintendo’s push to expand its digital ecosystem beyond game launches. Subscribers also receive new retro content, exclusive membership benefits, and limited-time events that add value for both Switch and Switch 2 owners. Whether players prefer challenging action games, classic Nintendo history, multiplayer experiences, or downloadable expansions, this week’s Nintendo Download delivers something across nearly every category.

Lies of P: Complete Edition headlines this week’s Nintendo Switch 2 releases

The biggest addition this week is Lies of P: Complete Edition, which is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. The critically acclaimed Soulslike adventure puts players in the role of Geppetto’s puppet as they navigate a dark world filled with dangerous monsters, morally complex choices, and multiple narrative outcomes.

The Complete Edition bundles the original game with the Lies of P: Overture prequel expansion, allowing players to experience the entire story in one package. Every decision throughout the adventure influences the narrative, giving players multiple endings depending on how they shape Pinocchio’s humanity.

Nintendo has also optimized the game for Switch 2, making one of the most celebrated action RPGs of recent years available on the company’s newest hardware.

Nintendo Switch Online adds two unreleased Virtual Boy games

Nintendo is also expanding its growing retro library with two games that never officially reached players during the Virtual Boy era.

ZERO RACERS finally makes its debut through the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics collection. Set in the distant future, the futuristic racer challenges players to compete through interconnected tunnel-like tracks while managing rankings, collecting RAPID boosts, and advancing through increasingly difficult courses.

Joining it is D-HOPPER, an action-adventure starring Prince Dorin. After escaping an attempted rebellion, players explore floating environments, rescue elemental spirits, and eventually transform into a dragon with unique combat abilities.

Both titles are now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.

Pokémon, NBA 2K26, and Nintendo Music receive major updates

Players of Pokémon Pokopia can now purchase Part 1 of the Expansion Pass, titled Bubbly Basin. The new content introduces an underwater town where players can dive beneath the sea, discover additional Pokémon, unlock new outfits, grow watermelons using Water-type specialties, upgrade Surf, and prepare smoothies through newly added gameplay systems.

Nintendo Switch Online members can also download and play the full version of NBA 2K26 during the latest Game Trial. The promotion runs from Aug. 7 through Aug. 13, allowing subscribers to experience the complete game at no additional cost while keeping all progress if they later purchase it. Participants can also earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points by completing the associated mission.

Nintendo Music also continues to grow with several notable additions. Soundtracks from five Virtual Boy games—including Mario Clash, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, Virtual Boy Wario Land, and Mario’s Tennis—have joined the streaming app. Fans can also listen to select music from the upcoming Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave before its September launch, while additional Free Roam playlists inspired by Mario Kart World, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit are now available.

Tetris 99 event and more games arrive on Nintendo eShop

Competitive players can participate in the 56th MAXIMUS CUP event for Tetris 99. Running from Aug. 7 through Aug. 10, the event rewards players who earn 100 event points with a new in-game theme inspired by Splatoon Raiders. Nintendo is also making several previous MAXIMUS CUP themes available for a limited time through Aug. 16.

The Nintendo eShop has also expanded its catalog with numerous releases for both Switch 2 and the original Switch.

Among the major Switch 2 additions are Arcade Archives 2 TX-1, LEGO Party! – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (launching Aug. 11), EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 Deluxe Edition (available Aug. 10), Console Archives Doraemon, Montabi, OBAKEIDORO 2: Chase & Seek, and Spooky Spirit Shooting Gallery for Nintendo Switch 2.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch owners gain access to a wide variety of new releases, including Aery – Surreal World, Angel Engine, Aooni2, Arcade Archives TX-1, Blast Off! Summer Showdown, CloverPit, FixFox, Gods With Guns, Hololive Fantasy Battle, Fantasy Maiden Wars – DREAM OF THE STRAY DREAMER -, Mai: Child of Ages – Storms of Time, Pets Survivors, Pro Jank Footy, Talespinner, and several classic re-releases.

Nintendo also reminded players that weekly eShop sales continue across both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, while Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers retain access to classic game libraries, online multiplayer, Nintendo Music, GameChat, and other exclusive membership benefits.
