Nintendo Direct Could Take Place on September 10, New Clues Suggest

A September 10 Nintendo Direct remains unconfirmed, but a Ubisoft update, a recent report, and Nintendo’s pre-Tokyo Game Show timing are fueling speculation.

Nintendo Direct

Nintendo fans may not have to wait much longer for the company’s next major presentation. A new round of clues has pointed toward a possible Nintendo Direct on September 10, 2026, although Nintendo has not officially announced the event.

The speculation began after Ubisoft confirmed that it would share more information about Just Dance: Decades of Hits on September 10 following a recent leak. The timing has drawn attention because the Just Dance franchise has appeared in Nintendo presentations before, including the announcement of Just Dance 2026 Edition.

Another clue comes from SwitchForce, which has reportedly mentioned September 10 as the potential date for the next Nintendo Direct. The timing has also been echoed by other reports, although none of these claims constitute confirmation from Nintendo.

The calendar provides another reason for the speculation. Tokyo Game Show 2026 begins on September 17, giving Nintendo a narrow window to hold a potential presentation before the major Japanese gaming event gets underway. Nintendo’s official schedule confirms that TGS will run from September 17 through September 21.

Nintendo’s own news pages currently do not list a September 10 Direct announcement, making the date strictly speculative for now.

A September presentation would nevertheless fit the company’s recent pattern of showcasing upcoming Switch 2 and Switch releases through major Direct broadcasts. Nintendo’s June 2026 Direct, for example, featured major announcements including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and KINGDOM HEARTS IV.

Until Nintendo officially announces its next presentation, September 10 should therefore be treated as a possible date rather than a confirmed Nintendo Direct.
