Nintendo eShop listings have revealed updated file sizes for several upcoming and existing titles across both Switch 2 and standard Switch platforms, giving players a clearer idea of storage requirements ahead of release.

Switch 2 Games Show Heavy Storage Demands

Among the most notable entries is Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, which stands out as the largest file in the latest roundup at 39.1GB. Another major title, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, requires 15.8GB on Switch 2, showing a noticeable increase in scale compared to its original Switch version, which sits at 12.4GB.

Other releases such as Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection also vary between platforms, ranging from 4.7GB on Switch 2 to 3.8GB on the original system.

In contrast, many indie and simulator-style games continue to maintain extremely small file sizes. Titles like Dead Estate (1.0GB), Golfish (2.4GB), and Wheelie Life Simulator (1.2GB) remain easy downloads for users with limited storage space.

Even smaller entries such as Quest Arrest (67MB) and Eggconsole Hydefos MSX2 (44MB) highlight how retro and minimalist games still occupy minimal storage footprints despite the growing scale of modern releases.

Storage Trends Across Switch Ecosystem

The data, compiled from eShop listings across North America, Europe, and Japan, reflects a widening gap between large-scale RPG productions and lightweight digital titles.

This growing variation is expected as developers continue to push higher-quality assets on newer hardware while maintaining accessibility for smaller projects.

With Switch 2 hardware supporting larger and more detailed games, file sizes are likely to continue expanding, especially for high-end RPGs and cinematic experiences.
