What is the plot of Never Let Me Go?

Nuengdiao, our main protagonist, was not exactly a pampered child. Having come from a rich and wealthy family with all his needs provided, this boy born with a silver spoon would at first glance be considered to have been spoilt.

However, this was not the case for Nuengdiao. Rather, he was pretty isolated and forced to take care of himself which made him mature early on in life. This personality development followed after the death of his father, which Nuengdiao had to unfortunately witness with his own eyes.

After the tragic incident, Nuengdiao built walls around him and became distant from everyone. Worried about the safety of him and his mother, he made himself more defensive and aware of his surroundings in fear of something bad happening to his loved ones.

Palm, our protagonists’ love interest, comes from a family that had been serving Nuengdiao’s for generations. To help him feel safer when he went out, Palm acted as his bodyguard and stayed with him to help him rebuild his trust around others.

In the presence of Palm, Nuengdiao was able to let his guard down and open himself up to new experiences. As the two of them spend more time with each other, something other than friendship is bound to blossom.

Recap of Never Let Me Go Episode 10 (Spoilers!)

Episode 10 of Never Let Me Go is significant as Nuengdiao finally returns. While Nuengdiao’s uncle Kit thought his plan of destroying Nuengdiao was finally coming along, seeing his return made Kit burn red with anger.

The episode focuses more on Nuengdiao and his perspective towards life. All the circumstances and series of events that occurred in his life and the people that were involved in it, has shaped him as a person in the present. All the trust issues and insecurities he’s felt around others, is a result of all the things he’s had to go through in the past.

Although Nuengdiao is still unstable with his internal problems. this episode witnesses a true and genuine side of him that he cannot hide from Palm. He expresses his real feelings to Palm and hugs him. This intimate moment marks the sacrificial type of love that has built around them.
