Narvalo is a French television short-format series developed by Matthieu Longatte starring Rabah Nait Oufella, Deborah Lukumuena, and Oscar Copp, where a group of buddies talk about their latest adventures.
Usually of the follie variety in which both men and women do all sorts of things for their friendships and themselves and have either a hilarious series of encounters while executing the task or fail miserably only to share their woes with their buddies with the “at least we tried” excuse.
It is a show about the camaraderie of the French kind, full of street slang French, brought to us by Canal+ in a short format in which the episode has little or nothing to do with the previous one as it centers around different characters each time.
If you like street-related films centered around friendship, adventures, getting in trouble and also enjoy French-themed, fast-paced dialogue and slang, then try giving this one a shot of your time.
Narvalo Season 3 Episode 1 & 2 Recap
In the first couple of episodes of this new season, we see a frequent issue in French public offices: Things move so slowly, so bureaucrats are so incompetent with your paperwork that it can take weeks or months to get something done, and if the officer has a dislike for you, then you have even a worse time.
In the debut episode of the season, we see how Sofiane must deal with this peculiarity within the French government.
Despite Sofiane’s best attempts to obtain a permit, but must always confront the same idiot public office employee who goes to great lengths to block every attempt made by Sofiane to get that bureaucratic requirement. So, what does Sofiane do? Gets a little help from his friends.
Then, after getting that stamped paperwork, Sofiane heads back to the neighborhood and stumbles upon Kader, who’s now old and borderline insane; this impacts Sofiane, who talks to the rest of the gang and lets Sofiane know what’s been going on, together they try to help Kader, but there are a few obstacles to get that sort of thing done.
Firstly, it is a mental issue, and that requires help; once again, bureaucracy in France also affects the public health system, and getting a medical appointment, even for a menial thing, can take weeks or months, then there’s the determination of Kader of actually getting help. Lastly, there’s the fact that Sofiane and the crew must take time off work to get Kader there.
