Nami is a youthful, average-sized girl with medium brown eyes and orange hair. Many people compliment her on her beauty and attractiveness. When she was a member of Arlong’s crew, she got a blue tattoo on the side of her shoulder to signify mikan and spinning pinwheels below it as tributes to Bell-mère, Nojiko, and Genzo.
Both Nami and Robin are smart people who have been observed reading books and keeping journals in an effort to follow their passion. By exploring new islands along the Grand Line and learning more about the beginnings of the One Piece universe, Nami and Robin are able to get closer to realizing their aspirations without ever really completing them.
Could the next possible female Straw Hat member’s dream also develop as the plot of One Piece progresses? If that’s the case, Monet’s potential astronomer position would be a good match, as learning about the universe and the moons and how they affect the One Piece world may eventually lead to answers regarding how to make it to Rafted and retrieve the mythical treasure said to have been left there by Gol D. Roger.

Nami’s First Appearance
Nami first appeared in One Piece during the orange-themed Town arc, which was quite early in the series. Although she joined Luffy’s crew shortly after Zoro, fans didn’t learn much about this straw-hatted captain until the Arlong Park storyline.
After the events of Baratie, in which Nami hijacked the crew’s flagship, the Going Merry, she became the focus of this storyline. The rest of the Straw Hats followed, and when they reached the Conomi Islands.
Nami was presented as the last hope for her people after eight years of Arlong Pirate tyranny over their island was revealed.
When Arlong initially came to Cocoyasi, he imposed a charge that was essential to everyone’s continued existence. Nami and her sister Nojiko were held in high esteem by their adoptive mother, Bellemere. Because Bellemere could only support Nami and her sister, she was murdered.
When the pirate group found Nami’s talent for creating better nautical charts at such a young age, Arlong took her under his wing. This made Nami an asset to the team while also making her a slave. She then boldly asked Arlong to evacuate the island for her if she offered him 100 million berries.
Arlong broke their agreement, and the Navy took her money, so she had to go to Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy immediately came to her rescue when she called for help, and the four of them thereafter fought Arlong. The group ultimately won after a terrifying battle. They were able to free Nami and the island, and she eventually took over as navigator for the Stray Hats.

Nami After Time Skip
Nami was a complete wimp at the beginning of the series. She was very vulnerable and required constant protection from the rest of her crew, which she often avoided by fleeing the scene of conflict. She couldn’t hold her own in combat until Usopp fashioned a weapon that capitalized on her expertise in meteorology. She has just gained the ability to summon lightning, which has helped the Straw Hats win multiple fights.
The length of Nami’s hair has grown significantly between the Return to Sabaody Arc and the Fishman Island Arc, and it is now down to the small of her back. Like Robin, she has developed bigger, rounder breasts, but otherwise, she looks the same. However, her hourglass figure and other body shapes have grown more pronounced.
Her eyes give the impression of being much bigger and more baggy than they really are, and the fact that they are set lower on her face makes her seem younger. The only reason she’s taller than Robin now is because they’re both wearing heels. Her slimmer frame has allowed her to don a green and white halter bikini top, low-rise thin pants, chunky orange shoes, and what seem to be pearl earrings.
At the start of the Punk Hazard Arc, once Nami lands in the New World, she quickly changes into the red and yellow Criminal bikini top she was wearing on the plane. When they reached the more chilly part of Punk Hazard, Sanji lent her his jacket. After that, kinemon adorned her with a stylish black coat with the Devil Fruit’s powers.
