Nakana.io is shutting down, but Nintendo Switch owners have an opportunity to pick up the publisher’s catalog at exceptionally low prices before the transition. The indie publisher has announced that it will transfer its games to their respective developers this autumn, allowing the titles to remain available on the Nintendo eShop.
The announcement was shared by Nakana.io on social media, where the company described the closure as “bittersweet” and said preserving its games’ availability was the most important part of its legacy.

As part of the closure, Nakana.io’s Nintendo Switch games are currently available for $2 each. Even better, customers who already own one Nakana.io title, or purchase one for $2, can reportedly buy the remaining eligible games for just 10 cents each.
The discounted lineup includes Ahro, A Night at the Races, Arrog, Cosmic Top Secret, EQQO, Infini, Journey of the Broken Circle, Lydia, Mythic Ocean, Soul Searching, and Stilstand.
The promotion runs through August 30, 2026. While Nakana.io itself will disappear, its developers are expected to continue distributing the games, meaning the shutdown should not remove the catalog from Nintendo Switch players.
The closure marks the end of Nakana.io’s role as publisher, but its decision to hand the games back to their creators gives the indie titles a chance to remain accessible beyond the company’s shutdown.
