In the previous chapter, Chiyo was greatly disturbed after meeting Soujirou’s childhood friend, Princess Hana who clung to him, making Chiyo jealous. After Hana suggested Chiyo divorce Soujirou, Chiyo became extremely aggressive and confessed her love for her husband which Soujirou did not hear.
Later, Chiyo visits a bar with other ladies, gets drunk and starts complaining about how girls cling to her husband. Chiyo’s friends advice her to stop drinking and tell her that they must return to their home now. Chiyo tells them she would leave after having one more drink.
Chiyo attracts the attention of the shop manager, Tsubome who tells her that she has been hearing her story for a while now, and that Chiyo truly has a bad husband. Tsubome gives Chiyo more liquor and starts drinking with her. Chiyo accepts the drink, ignorant of the fact that Tsubome is actually into women and she is trying to get Chiyo drunk so she can take Chiyo back to her house.
Soon, Tsubome gets extremely drunk and curses Chiyo for her exceptional tolerance for liquor. Chiyo starts praising her husband, telling how much she loves him and how he always manages to protect her. At that moment, Sojirou comes looking for Chiyo and takes her home, much to Tsubome’s disappointment.
