My Hero Ultra Rumble has officially entered Season 18, bringing one of My Hero Academia’s most recognizable villains, Gentle Criminal, to the roster as a brand-new playable character. Announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment America on July 29, 2026, the latest season also introduces a major battlefield overhaul with Chaos City Ver. 02, alongside fresh costumes, character illustrations, seasonal rewards, and additional customization options.

The free-to-play 24-player battle royale continues to expand its content across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, giving players new ways to experience team-based battles using the unique Quirks from the My Hero Academia universe. With Gentle Criminal joining the fight as a Technical-type fighter and the map receiving significant changes, Season 18 aims to refresh both combat and exploration for returning and new players alike. Players can also expect more exclusive seasonal content to roll out as the season progresses.

Gentle Criminal Brings Technical Gameplay to My Hero Ultra Rumble

Season 18’s headline addition is Gentle Criminal, who enters the game as a Technical-type character built around mobility, positioning, and creative combat. Inspired by his abilities from the anime, he uses his Elasticity Quirk to manipulate the air around him, allowing him to move across the battlefield with precision while disrupting enemy attacks.

His combat toolkit includes Gently Arrow, a ranged attack that launches a feather pen projectile using elastic air. Players can also deploy Gently Rebound, which creates a defensive barrier capable of blocking incoming attacks and projectiles before retaliating with shockwaves and air bullets. Another signature ability, Gently Avant, lets him perform a high-speed dash that ricochets multiple times, increasing both its reach and offensive potential.

Gentle Criminal’s Special Action, Gently Trampoline, adds another layer of team utility by creating an air trampoline that launches allies into advantageous positions while knocking opponents away. His versatile move set rewards strategic movement and coordinated team play, making him a unique addition to the growing roster.

Season 18 also delivers a significant update to the game’s battlefield through Chaos City Ver. 02. The familiar Shopping District Area has been destroyed, opening the way for new underground shops and interconnected exploration routes that change how players navigate matches.

These environmental changes introduce additional combat opportunities, new traversal paths, and fresh strategic options during battles. Whether searching for resources or engaging rival teams, players will encounter a battlefield that encourages different approaches compared to previous seasons.

Alongside the map update, Bandai Namco has added new costumes, character illustrations, seasonal events, and rewards, giving players more opportunities to customize their favorite heroes and villains. Additional exclusive seasonal content is also planned throughout Season 18.

As a free-to-play battle royale featuring 24-player matches and cross-play compatibility, My Hero Ultra Rumble continues to let players team up as iconic heroes and villains from My Hero Academia. Beyond combat, players can explore the battlefield, collect items, interact with civilians, strengthen their characters, and use their Quirks strategically in the race to become the last team standing.
