Even though Asahi’s efforts are Noble, there aren’t many fans of this manga who want Sora to get together with the girl who rejected her, and that is completely justified knowing how Miya treats him.
The last chapter added a little more depth to Miya’s character as the fans learned more about her past, but the reason for her harsh actions toward Sora is still unknown. So far, the manga has been great with its wholesome and humorous plot, and you can expect it to stay consistent.
My Crush’s Crush Chapter 8 “Do You Like Sporty Girls?”: Recap
The chapter opens up with Asahi and Miya trying on some sports uniforms for trialing purposes. Miya feels a bit uncomfortable because the clothes are too short, but she forgets everything and starts blushing when Asahi compliments her. Sora arrives at the scene wearing a wacky clown outfit, and he also complements Miya.
While Asahi trembles at the mere sight of Sora, Miya wonders why he’s dressed up like this. Asahi then thanked both Miya and Sora for helping her in trialing the uniforms. Sora adds that he also got to see Miya in various costumes, so this trial has been great for him too. These remarks make Miya furious, who then attacks Sora to teach him a lesson.
Asahi watches the two of them go at it, and she wonders if it wasn’t a good idea to ask for Miya’s help in trialing. She then announces break time, so Sora immediately removes his costume and runs away. Asahi wonders why he ran away when this was the perfect opportunity for him to talk with Miya.
Miya asks Asahi to come to the convenience store with her as she’s thirsty. While walking towards the convenience store, Miya randomly stops, which makes Asahi wonder. Miya then bows down and apologizes to Asahi for hiding the fact that Sora was the trialing prince all along.
Miya further adds that she knew about this fact since middle school, and even though she knew how Asahi felt about him, she still hid the truth. Asahi doesn’t get angry. Instead, she smiles and tells Miya that she did a good job because she allowed her to fantasize about her prince for six years, and she also got to meet Sora without having any previous biases.
Asahi further explains that if Miya randomly told her that Sora is the person she’s been crushing on, then she might’ve thought that he’s kind of different, and that would’ve been the end of it. Asahi smiles and thanks Miya for giving her such a wonderful reunion. She then says that she has gotten over her obsession with the trialing prince so Miya can return Sora’s feelings.
Miya doesn’t quite like what Asahi said, as her expression explains her disgust. Asahi says that Miya is a bit too mean to Sora even though they went to the same middle school. Asahi further adds that Sora isn’t a bad guy, and he’s the one who’s suffering the most here because his crush hates him so much. Miya’s expression dulls down, and she says that she knows Sora all too well.
After a while, Asahi and Miya bump into Miya’s middle school club members. Those people start teasing Miya for her speaking habits and say that her knight in shining armor, Sora, is also not around to save her anymore. Asahi gets furious after seeing Miya being treated like this, and the bullies run away just by seeing the look on her face.
While walking away from the store, Asahi and Miya notice Sora playing football with some kids. Asahi wonders when he got back after eating, but Miya says that he never went to eat. Asahi soon realizes that Sora skipped his meal to help the kids enjoy themselves, and she falls for him even more, but then she notices how Miya acts around Sora. She thinks that this might be harder than she first thought.
