The story is set in a world where a battle has just started and a portal connecting it to a world of monsters unexpectedly opens. After that, a period in which hunters survive by taking down monsters that originate from Gates begins. According to their skill level, hunters are assigned ranks, with F being the lowest.
As his father passed away, Jin Tae Kyung, a low-rank hunter, was left to support his sister and mother while also facing financial difficulties. He picks up a VR device one day and takes it to his friend’s house to see whether it is worth anything, but he is unsuccessful.
When Tae Kyung can’t sleep at night because his friends are snoring, he decides to take a nap in the virtual reality headset and unintentionally enters the game which is set in Murim, a location in the martial arts universe. He awakens next to an unidentified girl speaking a different language. When an unexpected holographic screen appears in front of him, he realizes that the woman is speaking Chinese.
Tae-Kyung finally manages to leave this virtual realm of Murim after much struggle. He applies the strength and abilities he acquired in Murim in the real world. This enables him to continue supporting himself as a hunter, but he ultimately chose to return to Murim to save his NPC companions, even though he knows that if he is murdered, he will also die in the real world.
Doesn’t that sound a lot like Solo Leveling? Actually, that is what inspired this manhua. It won’t let you down, I can assure you of that.
Previously on Murim Login Chapter 148: Recap
In episode/chapter 148, we saw that the investigation squad that was sent urgently had conducted an elaborate and swift investigation. They also collected all the traces on the scene.
The police then also summoned all of star guild’s members for interrogation but the members continue to argue that they had no clue about what actually had happened.
Star Guild’s, team 1 leader, Kim Donghyuk however gives a perfect testimony. He hands over the letter and the USB that was sent by an anonymous informant.
On checking with the provided resources, they find out that the raid process was completely filmed. As soon as further investigation was done, Won Myunghoon’s ugly past and numerous crimes start to come to light; by which he is back in the spotlight.
On the other side, Jin Taekyung gains public support and also donates hundreds of billions of won to the victim of the gates and establishes a donation foundation.
Our protagonist, Jin Taekyung also seems to have plans of taking better care of his family and moving back to the place where they lived along with his father.
At the end of this chapter, we get to see the Murim world again. With a perfect blend of the Murim world and the real world, the manhwa/webtoon seems to be going at a perfect pace.
