Murder on the Blackpool Express filming locations is what is making the noise right now. Fans are really curious about where this film was shot because of the beautiful cinematic locations used within. Jason Cook created the movie under the banner of Gold.
There were many films and spinoff series, and sequels that followed the movie afterward because of how popular it got. The plot serves as a parody of the film called Murder on the Orient Express. We see how people who are on a bus tour are being murdered one by one. This creates a sense of urgency in them all as they try to solve the murders and find the killer before they themselves are killed.
Murder on the Blackpool Express – Plot
In the lead, we see two characters named Terry and Gemma, who are caught in this mystery. They are a coach driver and a tour guide, respectively. This starts when one of the passengers is killed.
As for the passengers who are a part of the show, they serve as some of the eccentric characters who each have their own secret motives. Soon, we start seeing more murders happening, which raises concerns. This makes Terry and Gemma use their wits and investigates who the killer is.
The film rocked the hearts of all the fans and was a huge success among them all. It even gave birth to two sequels that were later released. It also has a follow-up series which is all made by Gold. Coming to the filming locations of the movie, here is where it all took place.
Murder on the Blackpool Express Filming Locations
The film was primarily shot in the UK, where all the scenes took place. Although, we see how the majority of the screen time is on a coach bus.
1. Pioneer House in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire
The location was used in the form of a pickup point where the Coach tour started from. The exterior shots were taken and used in the starting scene where the coach picks the passengers off. Also, some of the interiors were seen in the film at the points where Terry and Gemma argue about the entire case.
2. Blackpool Tower in Blackpool, Lancashire
This location was seen in a variety of shots in the film. Firstly, we saw Terry confronting the person whom he thought was the killer. Also, the outside locations of the towers were used to show the place where the coach arrives in Blackpool. The interiors were also taken for the other scenes. We saw Terry and Gemma go for a ballroom dancing ride inside here.
3. Happy Dayz amusement arcade on the Blackpool seafront
This location was seen in the film when the murderer was chasing a victim as they were trying to escape. It was quite thrilling to watch the scene, but the park behind was too beautiful to ignore. There were some background shots as well which were taken for the coach tour. These took place at the arcade.
4. Alderley Edge, located in Cheshire
To be more specific, the Castle Rock area of Alderley Edge was used during the filming of the movie. We saw the scene take place here when a victim was pushed off the cliff. This was a very intense scene, but the cliff was beautiful to look at.
5. Ascot Priory in Berkshire
This is a historic location that was used during the filming of Murder on the Blackpool Express. Ascot Priory was built in the 12th century and is currently listed as a Grade I building. The location was used during the filming of the movie for the scenes set at Bartleby Cathedral.
6. Stoke Court in Buckinghamshire
This was yet another historic place that made its way onto the screen with the film. The court is currently listed as a Grade II building which was made in the 17th century. It was used in the film to portray the location of Clesperley Major during the coach tour.
