According to multiple sources who spoke to PEOPLE, the Real Housewives of Potomac alum, 39, and the former NFL star are divorcing after ten years of marriage. The couple has three kids: a daughter, Milani, 7, and two sons, Christopher, 9, & Chase, 3.
Chris Samuels, the husband of Monique Samuels, and the couple are divorcing. According to reports, Chris Samuels, the husband of Monique Samuels from The Real Housewives of Potomac, is divorcing her after ten years of marriage.
The pair wed in 2012, and they have three kids together. On Love & Marriage: D.C., viewers observed that the couple struggled through a difficult period but didn’t believe their vows would be shattered.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac recently had a shock when People revealed that Monique and the former NFL player would be splitting up. The former housewife & her husband weren’t doing well; many sources told the magazine.
Ashley Darby revealed during a BravoCon panel that she and Monique had lunch earlier in the week and had rekindled their connection. Monique said that she was experiencing “some things.”
The Samuels’ marital problems were featured in Season 1 of Love & Marriage: D.C. The OWN reality series has revealed plans for a second season, and Monique is anticipated to appear.
PEOPLE Has Contacted The Couple For Comment.
Monique’s former co-star, Ashley Darby, spoke about their connection on Sunday at the Real Housewives of Potomac panel at BravoCon. She said the two had lunch just the week prior and that Monique was “going through some personal stuff” at the time.
While filming RHOP in July, Monique spoke to Entertainment Tonight regarding the state of their marriage. “People frequently claim that reality television destroys marriages. People don’t realize that Real Housewives of Potomac may have saved my marriage somehow, “She disclosed. Before filming that episode, Chris and I were in an extremely difficult situation.
“In our marriage, we had completely given up on dating. After we began filming for reality T.V., we found that it benefited us because it made us the date, “Added she. “We were able to leave and rekindle our connection and passion for one another. So at the close of the day, you occasionally still need to revisit those instances. People who watched Potomac recognized that I had some of the same worries I had when I addressed them on Love & Marriage: D.C. It follows that this is nothing new.”
Monique already announced that she was leaving RHOP in December 2020. She announced on Instagram Live that she would not return for the show’s sixth season following the airing of the season finale of the season 5 reunion. “A weird ride, that. I’m tired of reality T.V. since it’s not easy to do. “She then explained. “I love you all, and I thank you for everything you have done for me, but there’s no turning back once you cross certain lines,” said Team Monique.
And that line for me is my family, she added. I’m over it because I value my family’s and kids’ opinions more than anyone else’s and what they have to say about everything I do.
Monique Samuels of RHOP Defends Her Split From Chris Samuels
Monique denied having marital problems on her Instagram Story shortly after the news was announced. After telling Chris about her recent trip to the Shenandoah Valley, the three-year-old’s mother took a deep breath and inquired about the reports.
His wife was yelling loudly in the background as he shook his head. To further emphasize her point, the former housewife displayed her wedding and engagement rings to the camera.
The Real Housewives of Potomac fans believed Monique was pulling a joke on them. It is well-recognized that People never publish fake information and always verify the validity of their sources.
Many of her supporters believe Monique is a P.R. prankster who deliberately sought to draw attention to herself. The announcement coming from BravoCon and her pal Ashley is not a coincidence. For many, it also makes sense that Monique did not release the information herself.
As The Real Housewives of Potomac fans are likely aware, Monique left the series in 2020 after four seasons. Sadly, following her physical conflict with Candiace Dillard-Bassett, she gained notoriety as a cast member.
After declining a position on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Monique later stated that the atmosphere on RHOP was toxic. Monique claimed that Andy Cohen treated her differently from the other women on the show.
The Samuels team has released additional news, so for the time being, viewers will have to wait and watch. However, most people are inclined to believe the People article and think Monique may be attempting to re-enter the Real Housewives series to secure a salary for her impending single life.
