It’s been quite a long journey of waiting and speculating, but here we are finally! Monarch, Fox Entertainment’s first fully owned drama series, released the first official trailer back in December. It was revealed in the trailer that the show would be premiering on 30th January. Due to some showrunner issues and Covid-19-related problems, the show was pushed back to fall 2022. The musical drama created by Melissa London Hilfers stars the talented Academy Award Winner actress Susan Sarandon and Grammy Award Nominee Trace Adkins.

It’s intriguing for sure, filled with music and mystery. Imagine if Empire and Nashville had a baby show, Monarch would be that baby. What Is The Show Monarch About?
As we mentioned earlier, Monarch is a musical drama. This multigenerational musical drama series revolves around the Romans, America’s first family of country music. Standing at the top of the country music world, their dynasty is secretly built on some lies that even the head of the family might be unable to handle. The family is headed by Dottie Roman and Albie Roman, also known as the Queen and King of Country. The fiercely talented and passionate Romans had created this country music dynasty together.
However, as most dynasties do, the Roman Dynasty threatens to crumble as well. As a result, the daughter and also heir to the crown, Nicolette “Nicky” Roman, steps in to help. She is determined to protect the dynasty’s reign in country music. But, she also has her own stardom to look after. Who will get the crown? Who gets the good side and the bad side of the Roman family? We will have to wait to find that out.

Who Will Be Seen In This New Drama Series?
The show Monarch stars Susan Sarandon as Dottie Cantrell Roman and Trace Adkins as Albie Roman in the lead roles. The main cast of the series also includes Beth Ditto as Gigi Taylor-Roman, Anna Friel as Nicolette Roman, and Joshua Sasse as Luke Roman. Along with these actors, Martha Higareda as Catt Phoenix, Emma Milani as Ana Phoenix, and Iñigo Pascual as Ace Grayson will also be seen on the show. There are also several recurring roles that will be played by Eva Amurri, Adam Croasdell, Meagan Holder, Derrick Lemmon, Faith Prince, Callum Kerr, and Kevin Cahoon.
Susan Sarandon has been a part of several famous shows like Rick and Morty, Feud, Ray Donavan, and Malcolm In The Middle. While Trace Adkins, the American country music singer, has appeared in several films such as Trailer Park of Terror, An American Carol, Moms’ Night Out, and The Outsider. The show will feature both original music and covers. Adkins even released the first single for the series back in December. The aforementioned single is titled “A Country Boy Can Survive”.
Monarch Episode 1 Release Date
After being in the works since 2019, the show is all set for its release. The first episode titled “Stop At Nothing” will finally be airing on 11th September 2022. The show originally scheduled to premiere in January got delayed due to the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus. However, on 6th June 2022, it was finally announced that the first episode of Monarch would premiere on 11th September 2022, Sunday at 8/7c on Fox TV.
Where To Stream The Show?
The show will be airing on Fox. The Fox-produced drama Monarch will be available on Hulu as well. After its initial release on Sunday, the show will be moving to Tuesday nights starting from 20th September 20 at 9 pm ET/PT.
