Worth a Watch?
Owing to the intriguing premise, engaging animation, and head-bouncing music, Ya Boy Kongming received an 8.8 rating on My Anime List, with positive reviews spilling out of the pot.
The series isn’t only about Kongming getting isekai’d but also touches on the difficulties in the music industry and the life of a struggling singer. The series is a perfect watch for a relaxing day when you don’t want to watch an intense and serious series. Plain and simple, Ya Boy Kongming doesn’t let its one-dimensional storyline negatively affect the show. The simplicity of the plot makes it so easy and enjoyable to watch.
The first few episodes set the mood of the show with the introduction of party ensembles and the modern life of Japan, but after that, the show takes a more focused view on the music part. The series slowly becomes a “serious music anime” and so delivers a feel-good watch.
You can stream the anime on Crunchyroll and Hidive and come back for more updates on the upcoming live-action!
