Minecraft Dungeons II reportedly generated around $9 million in Steam revenue during September 2026, according to estimates from GameDiscoverCo. The action RPG sequel appeared among the month’s top new paid Steam releases, demonstrating a strong start despite having only a few days to generate revenue before September ended.

The figures were highlighted in GameDiscoverCo’s September gaming market report, published on October 7, 2026. The report examined new PC and console releases using estimated sales and revenue data, with Minecraft Dungeons II standing out among several major launches during a crowded month for new games.

These figures are third-party estimates rather than official financial results confirmed by Microsoft or Mojang Studios. They also refer specifically to Steam revenue, not the game’s total earnings across all platforms.

MINECRAFT DUNGEONS II JOINS SEPTEMBER’S TOP STEAM RELEASES

The estimated $9 million in Steam revenue placed Minecraft Dungeons II among September’s leading new paid releases. Its late-month arrival makes the result notable, as the game had considerably less time to accumulate sales than titles released earlier in September.

GameDiscoverCo’s report also identified Transport Fever 3 among the month’s top new paid Steam games. Other notable releases included Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker, and EA Sports FC 27, illustrating the competition for players’ attention during the period.

Developed by Mojang Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, Minecraft Dungeons II expands the dungeon-crawling action RPG series with new locations, tougher enemies, equipment options, and cooperative gameplay. The official announcement describes an adventure involving mysterious disturbances across the Overworld and a new threat that players must confront.

Players can explore alone or team up with as many as three others in online or local co-op. The sequel also introduces the Sift, a new dimension filled with unfamiliar threats and environments. The Sift is also planned to arrive in Minecraft in 2027.

The game launched across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, with availability through Xbox Game Pass on supported platforms.

Its estimated September revenue offers an early indication of commercial interest in the sequel. However, sales performance across consoles and subscription services would need to be considered for a fuller picture of its launch.
