Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, has publicly refuted accusations from HYBE during a press conference on April 25. These allegations have placed her and the girl group NewJeans under significant scrutiny.
On May 19, Min expressed her disillusionment with the entertainment industry’s corruption and her frustration over the accusations.
Min clarified that her meetings with representatives from Naver and Dunamu, which operates Upbit, were purely social and not related to any investment activities. She suggested that a four-party meeting, including HYBE, could confirm the nature of these interactions.
Min was astonished by HYBE’s allegations, noting that her brief and insignificant interaction with a Dunamu representative did not warrant such claims.
She criticized HYBE for dragging unrelated acquaintances into the controversy and questioned the legitimacy of an unnecessary audit that led to a drop in HYBE’s stock price. Min suggested that HYBE’s evidence might have been obtained illegally.
She also addressed the release of KakaoTalk messages between her and ADOR executives, implying they were taken out of context.
Min acknowledged the complex and private challenges faced by herself and NewJeans, which are not public knowledge. She expressed the difficulty in discussing these matters publicly, as it could lead to further misunderstandings and harm.
Throughout her statement, Min emphasized her commitment to defending her position and correcting misleading narratives.
She stressed the importance of waiting for judicial outcomes to clarify the situation rather than relying on distorted public discourse. Min concluded by advocating for a calm and measured approach, focusing on the forthcoming legal decisions to resolve the controversy.
