Stephen John Ward, who portrays the legendary swordsman Dracule Mihawk in Netflix’s live-action One Piece, recently revealed his favorite line from the series during a rapid-fire interview segment called “One Piece One Minute Chat.”
The short interview challenged Ward to answer several quick questions within sixty seconds, encouraging spontaneous and brief responses. Among the questions was one asking the actor to share his favorite quote from the live-action adaptation.
Ward chose one of Mihawk’s most memorable lines from the show:
“I don’t hunt rabbits with a cannon.”
The line is delivered during Mihawk’s duel with Roronoa Zoro in the Baratie arc. In the scene, Mihawk explains why he initially fights Zoro with a small dagger rather than his massive sword, Yoru, highlighting the enormous gap in their skill levels.
The moment became one of the standout scenes in the first season of Netflix’s One Piece. Ward’s calm delivery and commanding presence helped capture the character’s intimidating reputation as the world’s greatest swordsman.
The rapid-fire interview included several other questions about the series and anime in general. Ward named Nami as his favorite One Piece character besides Mihawk and mentioned Bleach and Dragon Ball Z when asked which anime first came to mind after One Piece.
Although the segment lasted only a minute, Ward’s answers offered fans a brief look into his thoughts about the character he plays and some of the most memorable moments from the live-action adaptation.
