Melissa Gorga has hinted at discussions with Andy Cohen about the future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ). After the show’s 14th season, fans were worried it might face a major cast overhaul, similar to The Real Housewives of New York City, where the original cast was replaced with a new one.
While Cohen has not confirmed or denied these rumors, cast members have admitted they don’t have clear answers. Now, Gorga has revealed that she has spoken directly with Cohen about the matter.
During an episode of her podcast On Display, Gorga shared her thoughts on the situation. She said, “I do ask him [Andy], I do. I’ve seen him. I’ve seen him a couple [of] times, but you know the Bravo gods are, he very much so claims, that they are still figuring it out.”
This contradicts earlier statements by Jennifer Aydin, who claimed she was returning to the show, and aligns with what Teresa Giudice and others have said about the uncertainty.
Gorga also suggested that updates could be coming soon. She explained, “They were waiting until after the New Year to work on Jersey, so I think maybe their minds are getting together as we speak. It wasn’t being talked about at all, actually, until after the New Year, so I think right now.”
Melissa Gorga Shares Views on a Possible Reboot
The topic eventually turned to the idea of a complete reboot, where the entire cast would be replaced. Gorga noted that such a shake-up would likely delay the show’s return. She explained, “I do think if they do a big cast shake-up, which Andy has said multiple times, that is happening.
I do think it calls for a little bit of a pause because you don’t want it to just happen overnight, like all of a sudden, there’s three new girls.”
However, Gorga also expressed her belief that Bravo would blend new cast members with some of the existing ones. She said, “If I’m giving my honest opinion, I do think they are going to find they’re probably going to keep a few of us.
I do think they would probably keep a couple, and they’re definitely going to recast a couple.” She added, “So I feel like you’re going to get a little old and a little new in the new season.”
