The release also puts the spotlight on the performances by Leo Ieiri and Ai Tomioka, whose theme songs help define the series’ atmosphere.

A Story Years in the Making

Mebius Dust has been in development for much longer than most original anime. The project began as Möbius Dust, an original concept created by Hajime Shinagawa that won the “Kids/Game” category of the Project ANIMA competition in 2018. The initiative, backed by DeNA, Sotsu, and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, was created to turn winning original ideas into full anime productions.

The series was initially scheduled to premiere in 2022 but faced several years of delays before finally making its television debut on July 9, 2026. It is currently airing on Tokyo MX, BS Fuji, and MBS, giving fans the long-awaited adaptation of Shinagawa’s award-winning concept. The release of the creditless opening and ending sequences adds another milestone to the anime’s journey.

Voice Cast and Music Bring the Story to Life

The anime stars Yuto Takenaka as Araki, Nene Hieda as Stella, and Haruka Satō as Olga. Supporting cast members include Taiyo Saka, Aoi Ichikawa, Sohei Horikane, Sōmi Matsuda, Shiori Mikami, and Maki Kawase, creating a strong ensemble for the original series.

Music plays an important role in shaping the atmosphere of Mebius Dust. The opening theme, “Mebius,” is performed by singer-songwriter Leo Ieiri, while Ai Tomioka performs the ending theme, “Dilemma.” The newly released creditless videos give fans an uninterrupted chance to enjoy both songs alongside the anime’s visuals.

The series soundtrack was composed by DÉ DÉ MOUSE, who reportedly created 55 original tracks within a month. His work helps establish both the emotional moments and the larger science fiction setting throughout the series.
