In the previous episode of Masamune-kun’s Revenge, Masamune Makabe confessed his feelings and gave a gift to Aki Adagaki. She respectfully declined and hoped he would understand. She says, “Goodbye for the last time.”

The teacher was worried about Masamune Makabe’s absence from class for four consecutive days. After this, he takes attendance of the students present in the class. During the break, his friends were worried, too!

We later learn that spring break might start before Masamune Makabe comes back. During the conversation, Sonoka Kaneko asks Neko Fujinomiya if she knows the reason for his not coming. And as expected, she did know it either. We discover from Sonoka Kaneko’s asks and Fujinomiya’s conversation that Masamune Makabe was not responding to anyone’s calls or messages. Our boy is heartbroken after his last conversation with Aki Adagaki.

Neko Fujinomiya thinks Masamune Makabe is probably sick, so he prefers to skip school until he gets well. Sonoka Kaneko quickly rejected her theory that Masamune Makabe was sick because the teacher called his name daily. And everyone agrees with her on this! Because it makes more sense than the theory of sickness.

In the following panel, Tae Futaba asks Aki Adagaki if she knows why Masamune Makabe hasn’t come to school. Even after hearing this, Aki Adagaki stands still. She shows no concern for him as it doesn’t matter to her. Adagaki confessed to everyone that he and Makabe broke up.

After receiving the devastating news, Tae Futaba is in a state of shock and unable to cope. From this point on, every fan of Masamune-kun’s Revenge hates her, and only for this reason.
