Marriage Of Convenience Chapter 78: Recap

Chapter 78 starts off with panic in the air, with a trio of horses rushing inside Arno’s gates carrying Gasper & Bianca. However, Bianca appears to be unconsciously carried around by Sir Gasper, while Vincent and the people of Arno question this situation. Gasper ordered Vincent to shut Arno’s gates and prepare for siege warfare, to defend against the second prince’s cavalry.

Siege warfare is when the defending side is stationary in a fortified structure, like a castle. And the attacking group is trying to penetrate through the defenses and take the fight on common ground. Surprisingly, in siege warfare, the defending side would be at more of an advantage than the opposing force.

After Bianca recovered, the people of Arno found that the second prince mocked Bianca and caused her to cut her own hair to free herself from his grasp. This led to mutual hatred festering against the loathsome second prince.

Bianca understands the situation she’s in; with the second prince’s cavalry approaching, it would be detrimental to either give in and let the second prince rule Arno or brand anyone against the second prince as traitors to the “Severang Imperial Family.”

Bianca cares for the people of Arno, allowing them to turn back and settle in the land of ‘BlanchFort’ with no conflicts. As savory as the deal could be, Arno’s residents were simple and loyal to their land. The people of Arno made it clear that they were not running to safety, leaving behind a lady to fight. Bianca was overwhelmed with emotions as she felt harmony around her as the people of Arno stood with her to fight against the opposing cavalry.

When the second prince and his troops arrive at the gates of Castel Arno, the chapter ends with Bianca standing above the fortress, looking down on the second prince’s perverted face. Bianca flips the second price off, showing a burning passion for letting them know the people of Arno and herself will stand their ground and fight for their freedom.

Zachary was skeptical about his helmet’s disappearance. In chapter 77, he suspects the second prince could use it against the resistance by showing it to Bianca and the people of Arno, which would definitely throw off the opposition by showing Zachary’s blood-stained helmet insinuating “The count died in battle,” potentially breaking everyone’s morale to keep up the fight.
