Nintendo released an overview trailer on Thursday for the upcoming Mario vs. Donkey Kong game and announced the availability of a demo for the game.
Scheduled for release on February 16 for the Nintendo Switch, the game revolves around the renewed rivalry between Mario and Donkey Kong. In the storyline, Donkey Kong has snatched the Mini-Mario toys, prompting Mario to embark on a quest to recover them.
Players will face increasingly challenging levels, utilizing a combination of puzzle-solving skills and platforming abilities. Notably, the updated version of the game offers a local co-op mode, allowing friends to join forces in the adventure.
The game boasts over 130 levels, including new additions, fresh obstacles, a casual mode for a more relaxed experience, and the option for local co-op play. Giving players a bang for their money by adding an element of randomness and unpredictability that comes with playing with other players online.
The original Mario vs. Donkey Kong game premiered on the Game Boy Advance in 2004. This entry marked the beginning of a new series inspired by the classic 1981 Donkey Kong arcade game and its 1994 Game Boy sequel. Subsequent titles in the series include Mario vs. Donkey Kong: March of the Minis for Nintendo DS and Mini Mario & Friends: Amiibo Challenge for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.
