MapleStory Idle RPG’s Journey’s Treasure update introduces a new EXP progression system and additional rewards for idle hunting.

NEXON has released the Journey’s Treasure update for MapleStory: Idle RPG, adding a new EXP system designed to make progression through the mobile idle RPG faster and more rewarding. Released on August 13, 2026, the update builds around the game’s idle hunting mechanics while introducing new rewards, Legendary Artifacts and several gameplay improvements.

The new Journey’s Treasure EXP system allows players to earn additional experience by defeating monsters through idle hunting. Higher chapters provide faster EXP progression, giving players another incentive to advance through the game’s content.

The update also expands character progression through three new Legendary Artifacts and introduces balance changes across jobs. Meanwhile, several quality-of-life features are designed to reduce repetitive tasks, including automated Party Quest matchmaking and a feature that can clear all five Growth Dungeons simultaneously.

Journey’s Treasure Adds New EXP Rewards

The Journey’s Treasure system is directly connected to idle hunting. Players earn Journey’s Treasure EXP by defeating monsters, with the progression rate increasing in higher chapters.

Once the EXP gauge reaches 100%, players can choose one of four reward cards. Options include items such as a Star Force Enhancement Scroll and Regular Potential Cube. Rewards from cards that are not selected increase in level for future selections, adding another layer of strategy to each choice.

Three new Legendary Artifacts further expand the game’s progression options. Reindeer’s Spear increases Attack Power and Defense Penetration by 5%, while its Defense Penetration effect is doubled against a single enemy and tripled when defeating a boss.

Secret Map increases AP by 5% and provides a 5% Final Damage increase when fighting 10 or more enemies. Its Final Damage effect is further tripled during Growth Dungeon battles.

The Ring of Cycles checks Critical Hit Chance every five seconds. If the chance is below 100%, it increases by 30%. When Critical Hit Chance reaches 100% or higher, the artifact instead boosts Skill Damage by 40% and Basic Attack Damage by up to 60%.

MapleStory: Idle RPG Adds Major Quality-of-Life Changes

The Journey’s Treasure update also includes a comprehensive balance patch affecting overall job statistics. Monster damage taken in Party Quests, Boss Raids and Growth Dungeons has been reduced to make these activities more accessible.

The new auto-matching feature in Exploration can automatically organize Party Quests, while Quick Clear All allows players to clear all five Growth Dungeons at once. Party Quest rewards have also been improved, with equipment drops now offering a greater number of sub-stats.

Additional improvements include better preset functionality, clearer combat-screen visibility, enhanced membership product benefits and a new equipment filter based on the number of sub-options.

MapleStory: Idle RPG is available on iOS and Android.
