Manga Mavericks Books is expanding its North American manga lineup with 12 releases planned across the final quarter of 2026. The publisher’s Fall schedule includes four brand-new series, three titles receiving print editions after previously launching digitally, and five new volumes from continuing series. The lineup spans comedy, boys’ love, girls’ love, fantasy, science fiction, historical action, and classic shonen adventure.
Among the most notable additions are Vegetable Sandwich, Oni & Dawn: Bakumatsu High School Girls, Arai-kun & Haruma Senpai, and Sinbad. The publisher is also bringing physical editions of The Pipe Machine, Path From Tanuki Temple, and Ballet Hero Fantasy: Dan’s Adventure featuring Steven McRae to readers. Several ongoing series will receive new volumes during the same period, giving Manga Mavericks Books one of its broadest seasonal release schedules since entering the publishing business.
Manga Mavericks Books’ New Fall 2026 Manga Debuts
The Fall 2026 schedule begins with Vegetable Sandwich, Vol. 1 by Banjo Saitou. The 192-page manga is priced at $14.99 in print and $6.99 digitally and is aimed at readers 13 and older. It follows Tsukushi, a high school student who looks intimidating but is actually extremely weak, and Warabi, an exceptionally strong elementary school student who struggles to find someone she can call a friend.
Their lives change after they encounter a lion that has escaped from a zoo. Despite their obvious differences, the two discover that they have more in common than expected. The manga draws inspiration from 1980s shonen manga and focuses on strength, friendship, and the unusual relationship between its two leads. The first volume is scheduled for September 29. Manga Mavericks previously announced the English license as part of its 2026 slate.
Next is Oni & Dawn: Bakumatsu High School Girls, Vol. 1 by Hana Ikuta. The 176-page series will be available in both print and digital formats, priced at $14.99 and $6.99 respectively. The story takes place at Koharu Girls’ High School, where the students are reincarnations of famous samurai from Japan’s Bakumatsu period.
Characters based on historical figures including Sakamoto, Takasugi, Katsura, Katsu, Hijikata, Okita, and Kondo live as teenage girls while retaining memories of their former lives. They must adapt to modern society while dealing with their historical baggage, relationships, and a school rule that prohibits romance. Manga Mavericks Books previously identified the series as a three-volume work originally published in Japan by TWO VIRGINS.
The third debut is Arai-kun & Haruma Senpai, Vol. 1 by Akahachi. This boys’ love romantic comedy centers on Ao Arai, a shy and introverted underclassman, and Haruma Ohara, a charismatic and athletic upperclassman. Their relationship begins after the two meet unexpectedly in an elevator.
Haruma quickly develops a crush on Arai, while Arai takes longer to recognize his own feelings. The story follows their repeated encounters around campus as their connection gradually develops into a slow-burn romance. The digital edition is priced at $6.99, with the first volume scheduled for December 29.
Manga Mavericks Books is also bringing Atsuji Yamamoto’s Sinbad, Vol. 1 to North American readers. The 224-page volume will receive both print and digital editions, priced at $19.99 and $6.99 respectively, with a December 29 release date.
Originally published in Japan in 1989, Sinbad follows a young man who possesses courage, agility, and a strong sense of justice but has always felt different from those around him. After helping a girl recover a lost crystal ball, Sinbad gains a his mysterious past and begins a journey to uncover the truth about his origins. The series combines classic shonen artwork with a fantasy adventure built around the legendary Sinbad character.
Three Manga Receive New Print Editions
Manga Mavericks Books is also giving three previously digital releases their first listed print editions in this seasonal lineup. The Pipe Machine, Vols. 1-2 by Takuji Umihara will be released together as a 168-page print collection for $14.99.
The bizarre science fiction adventure follows Saburo, an ordinary boy whose father builds a time machine shaped like a giant metal smoking pipe. A test of the machine sends Saburo into the outer reaches of space, where he encounters robots, space captains, and a mysterious girl who resembles someone from his hometown. The publisher has also scheduled The Pipe Machine, Vol. 3 as a continuing-series release for October 27.
Path From Tanuki Temple, Vols. 1-2 by Shinkuro Koma will receive a $24.99 print release on October 27. The fantasy adventure follows Princess Kikyo, a tanuki who can take human form, as she leaves her hidden village with a dancer named Yugao to seek adventure in the human world.
The third print debut is Ballet Hero Fantasy: Dan’s Adventure featuring Steven McRae by Takafumi Adachi. The 164-page release is priced at $14.99 and arrives November 24. The complete story combines ballet, tokusatsu-inspired action, fantasy, and Adachi’s artwork. Adachi is also known for Beyblade: Metal Fusion, while this title presents a fantastical story in which dancer Steven McRae becomes a hero through a magical mirror.
Five Continuing Manga Get New Volumes
The Q4 schedule also includes five new releases for continuing Manga Mavericks Books series. Horon of the Closed Country, Vol. 2 by Sen arrives digitally on September 28, continuing the story of Darshna, Horon, and Kera as they reach Edan, the Town of the Shrine Maiden. Kera encounters Neij, a childhood friend who has become the town’s shrine maiden, bringing buried memories back to the surface.
FISHGOD, Vol. 2 by Chlona follows Jaytle and the team after they accept a kaigyo extermination request from cosmetics company LisBarrier Inc. The operation leads Jaytle into a secret investigation involving the company’s vice president and an organization suspected of controlling the kaigyo. The volume is scheduled for October 27 at $6.99 digitally.
Also arriving October 27 is The Pipe Machine, Vol. 3. After being separated from his father and stranded in space, Saburo finds himself working to collect scrap while trying to adjust to his new surroundings. His search for a normal life becomes more complicated as secrets hidden beneath the scrap threaten to turn his latest adventure into something much more dangerous.
Zigoku’s Foreman, Vol. 2 by 9banta follows Mizuchi as he returns to his work of slaying monsters in hell. His growing problems include an admirer, dangerous old lady monsters, and demons that still need to be dealt with. The 60-page print volume costs $9.99 and is scheduled for December 29.
Finally, Vegetable Sandwich, Vol. 2 brings Tsukushi and Warabi’s story to its conclusion. As Tsukushi continues his pursuit of strength and Warabi begins viewing him as a genuine friend, their goals and relationship face new challenges. The second volume will be available in print and digital formats on December 29.
Manga Mavericks LLC launched Manga Mavericks Books after growing from a manga-focused podcast that began in 2016 into a broader multimedia company involving journalists and reviewers. The publisher says its goal is to highlight the work of Japanese creators while bringing a wide range of manga to international readers. Its current catalog includes titles across action, fantasy, comedy, romance, LGBTQ+ manga, and other genres.
The publisher’s Fall 2026 lineup reflects that approach, pairing new English-language debuts with physical editions of previously digital releases and additional volumes for established series. With Vegetable Sandwich, Oni & Dawn, Arai-kun & Haruma Senpai, and Sinbad leading the new releases, Manga Mavericks Books is set to give North American manga readers a particularly varied selection through the final months of 2026.
