The crime and thriller action drama, Magpie, directed by Ariel Benbaji, will soon air another episode of the series. With the new season being released recently, we’ve seen Asa’s life take a drastic turn, all while he tries to escape from his complex past. Asa has come a long way from being just a prisoner, but that came at the cost of ruining some of his closest bonds, especially of that with David.
Magpie was first seen on Israeli Television on June 13th, 2019. Having intense scenes coupled with a well-executed storyline made it a hit within the crime genre, and this subsequently led to it being announced for a new season which started airing on December 21st, 2022. The new season took off right after the story where David was put into jail.
This new installment focuses more on Asa’s karma getting back to him, and David experiencing the harder times of his life. He used to be the sole support for his brother Asa when he came out of jail after being incarcerated for about 17 years, but he was unaware of the condition upon which Asa had been released.
Magpie boasts a Best Screenplay Award, and many other nominations for the first season of Magpie. It is rated about 8.6 on IMDb, showing just how much viewers enjoy the strategic crime drama. Being ordered for approximately 11 episodes, the show will complete airing by February of this year. As of now, there’s no news of it having another season later on.
Magpie: Season 2’s Cast
The cast of Magpie remains the same for its second season, with only a few additional side characters being seen from time to time. The main protagonist, Asa, is portrayed by Or Ben-Melech, an actor from Tel Aviv known for his other main roles in Asfur and Escobank. Another Tel Aviv actor, Amos Tamam, plays the role of David in the series. He has also worked in shows such as Downtown Precinct and Juda in the past.
Another character we see often is Sofie. Her character is portrayed by the actress Ania Buckstein, who is also the stress starring in the shows Genius and Kilim. She also had a role in one of the Games of Thrones seasons.
Magpie Season 2 Episode 3: Recap
In the episode that was aired on December 28th, 2022, we see things progressing at the elections. Along with progress, there’s also an increase in hate and debates that go around the election. With Asa’s help, Sofie tries to fight off her opposition, and she’s late helped by Avishai as well.
David’s life was now drastically different. The power and reputation he once had, have turned into dust. He realizes this when he has to ask Sofie for help. David had been getting targeted by a group of mobsters, with no other way in sight, he turns to Sofie. Sofie has enough power to help him escape from the hands of those mobsters.

The next episode of this crime drama will be premiering on the channel on January 4th, 2023. New episodes of Magpie are aired on Wednesdays, with a single episode lasting about 44-45 minutes.
Magpie Season 2 Episode 4: What To Expect?
In the upcoming episode, A new member will be entering the elections, making things much more chaotic and complex. Kobi Alon will be the new addition. With the situation becoming worse, we’ll see Avishai and his people facing attacks.
This causes Asa to start evaluating his safety and try to overcome any problems these criminal organizations could throw at his way. We’ll also see David trying to make Sofie let go of the dangerous job she’s taken up, and urge her to retire from it.
Magpie Season 2 Episode 4: Where To Watch
Streaming for Magpie is taken up by the Israeli streaming platform, Yes Action. Viewers from Israel will be able to stream the show on the channel at 3:00 pm, EST. Magpie has limited streaming for now, but with its popularity increasing, we’ll be able to see the series being picked up by an international streaming platform soon
