Back at that time, the show was hosted by Caroline Flack, but then in 2019, she was suspended from the show after hosting five seasons due to her untimely death and the court cases. She was replaced by Laura Whitmore, who has been hosting the show ever since.
In 2022, Whitmore announced that she would no longer be hosting the show and officially left the show post the 18-month-long hiatus the show has due to the pandemic. In October 2022, it was also announced that she would be replaced by Maya Jama as the newest host of the show.
In 2020 it was also announced that the show would also have ow two seasons in the year, with one being in the same traditional summer slot and a new winter edition to be shot as well. Season 9 of Love Island is the second in line to be shot in the winter series after the summer series that aired in 2022.
The show aired on January 16th, 2023, and each episode has a running time of 95 minutes. The show has already been awaited, and this season is shot on an island in South Africa where all the islanders will be living a paradise life filled with love for the next few weeks as they are constantly under the surveillance of the cameras and make their way to the end to find love.
