Longing For You Episode 2 Recap (Spoilers!)
Longing For You Episode 2 opened with another murder in Woojin, marking the third case. At this point, the investigation was still kept private as a crime like this had never taken place before.
This time, the victim was Hae Ju, a girl that was well-known by Oh Jin Seong. However, while he is at the police station and discussing the possible suspects and connecting the dots of the case, Cha Young Woon enters.
Young Woon claims that the case was to be transferred to the Seoul department as the second crime happened in Seoul. To this, Jin Seong was greatly reluctant, but as Young Woon refused to back off, he decided to join the Seoul team instead and sort out the case. Along with Go Young Joo, the three of them and the rest of their team began their thorough investigation.
While Jin Seong was suspicious of Bae Min Gyu being the real culprit behind the serial murders, he was shut down by Young Woon and told not to make haste decisions, especially unlawfully arresting Min Gyu and taking him into questioning. Turns out that later, Jin Seong’s younger brother, Oh Jin Woo, is doubted by Young Woon.
Jin Woo was brought in for questioning once it was revealed that whenever the murders took place, he was always in close proximity of the crime scene, and furthermore, the murder weapon in the most recent case was in Jin Woo’s possession. When he was interrogated, Jin Woo admitted to visiting all these places, but he confessed that the knife was, in fact, one he bought online.
He told Young Woon he had bought it from a person named “Lemontree” and that he had never seen their face. What’s more, is that Lemontree was the one who asked him to meet up at all the present crime scenes but never showed up. This brought in the question of Lemontree’s identity and who they were.
By the end of the episode, it is revealed that the forensics had recovered images from Jin Woo’s phone, which was full of pictures of women’s feet. He showed them to Jin Seong and Young Joo and told them that he had a possible ankle fetish, which resembled the patterns of the serial killer. The episode ends with Jin Woo burning the original pictures.
