Why did Beyoncé didn’t took Lizzo’s name while performing?
On August 01, Tuesday, Lizzo was sued by three of her ex-dancers (Noelle Rodriguez, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis), and it shocked fans worldwide. Truth Hurts singer was sued over sexual harassment and hostile work environment allegations.
The accusations also included racial harassment, religious and false imprisonment, economic advantage with interference, and others. Also, the plaintiffs claim that the singer’s producing company did not give them proper payments on time during her European Tour.
This would be the reason for the B’Day singer’s reaction to the news of the allegations, as she refused to take the rapper’s name. However, Beyoncé had no other intention of avoiding the singer’s name. She wasn’t the only one she didn’t take.
Instead, the singer took Badu’s name four times to skip Lizzo’s name. Later, she didn’t mention any others after Lizzo’s name showed up to not single her out in a disrespectful manner. In fact, the rapper was a big fan of attending her Warsaw concert but has not addressed the allegations yet.
Lizzo, not a former member, claims the 35-year-old allegedly “called attention” to a dancer’s weight gain after a performance. Shockingly, the singer has campaigned as a body-positivity spokesperson for the youth. Her ex-crew mates joined their hands to support the victims and expressed their relatable experiences with the singer.
One of her ex-crew, Courtney Hollinquest, penned her story, saying that “This (Lizzo’s allegations) was very much my (when Courtney was working with Lizzo) experience in my time there. Big shoutout to the dancers who dared to bring this to light.”
Overall, Lizzo was one of the singers who promoted positivity with an inclusive thought that gained her popularity worldwide with many accomplishments and accolades.
The singer also bagged Grammys for her single. She took advantage of her platform to advocate mental health awareness, body-positivity, and LGBTQ+ rights through her songs.
Many fans and viewers have their own thoughts on the allegations; there are some fans who took her side, and some of them against her. Although, it seems like Queen B doesn’t want to take Lizzo’s name during the Renaissance tour for the ‘Break My Soul’ performance amid the rapper’s allegations and lawsuits.
