The suspense that was created in the seventh episode of the show is given a gate pass in the previous episode. The first thing that gets cleared is that no one is stabbed. It is also made clear that Eun-Jung is not Jin geun’s sister; rather, he was her sister’s boyfriend. After a series of events, she made a decision to find him anyhow. Everyone gathers inside Gye-hoon’s restaurant in order to kill Jin-Geun though police arrive at the scene, and a full stop is put there.
As the police continue to question them about the scene there, Da-Hyun confesses that Jin-Geun has been harassing her, and that’s why everyone was trying to protect her from him. After the turn of events, we see Eun-Jung admitting to Da-Hyun about her true involvement with Jin-Geun.
In the next scene, we get to see Da-Hyun and Gye-hoon meeting that night. After a hot-headed discussion between them, as Da-Hyun mentions that she doesn’t care anymore, the news about her resignation too is revealed by her.
At the café the next day, the atmosphere stands confused. Eun-Jung and Da-Hyun are shown quitting together. Though Gye-hoon refuses to let any one of them leave until their designated contracts are over. We see Da-Hyun having a beer with Min-jo as the latter asks her to report Jin-Geun so that he can be punished. Promising to do so, they bid goodbyes for the night.
On the other side, we see an anxious Gye-hoon wondering about the whereabouts of Da-Hyun. However, they meet on the road and open up about things that have been bugging them for days.
After being informed by Eun-Jung, Da-Hyun goes through Jin-Geun’s social media page. Things start to get worrisome again as she finds a post that talks about a reunion. We also see Jin-Geun going through his old things.
Seeing Da-Hyun running towards him, Gye-hoon realizes that Jin-Geun might have lived here in his childhood and Da-Hyun might have known him before. He tries to put a bit of pressure on his memories and suddenly knows who it could be.
By the end of the eighth episode, we see Jin-Geun convincing Won-tak that they can get rid of Gye-hoon. Though when the latter is not moved, Jin-Geun says that he saw everything on the day Gye-young disappeared. One thing leads to another, and we see Jin-Geun asking Gye-hoon to beg if he wants to know anything about the day his sister disappeared.
